alchemy.js forces you to start with only 4 elements and unlock the rest by combining them!
Start with the classical elements - Air (Oxygen), Earth (Dirt), Fire, and Water. You only have them and a few tools, but you must create as many more as possible.
For instance, you can mix Dirt and Water to make Mud, which can then be heated into Mudstone or Molten Dirt.
