Description
Starfall is a mod for RuneScape: Dragonwilds 1.0, made for the CurseForge modding contest. It is written in Lua for UE4SS and uses the game's own effects, sounds and rocks, so there is nothing to install besides UE4SS and one folder.
This is an unofficial mod. It is not affiliated with Jagex..
What it adds
- A star falls 22 minutes after the last one has gone, the first about 10 minutes after you load a world. A streak crosses the sky with a whoosh and lands with a flash, a boom and a shake of the camera.
- Stars fall at 22 landing sites in twelve regions. The farther a site is from where you start, the larger its stars can be: up to five layers in the south, and six to nine in Fellhollow, in the north. No star falls in Fellhollow until the host's character has been there, so a new character's stars stay within reach.
- You can find it from far away. The landing is announced on screen, the star is marked on your map with its own icon, and a column of light stands over it. The star itself glows: it lights the ground and the air around it in the colour of the layer that is showing, lime for Luminite, cyan for Runite and so on down to pale blue for Tin.
- A star is mined in layers. A star has up to nine layers of ore: Luminite on the outside, then Runite, Adamantite, Mithril, Gold, Iron, Silver and Copper, down to a Tin core. Each layer needs the pickaxe the game requires for that ore, so a strong player cracks the shell and a new player can finish the core. One of the books in the game's journal says luminite comes from the sky, from shooting stars; here that book is right.
- Each layer pays. A layer gives its ore and 20 Stardust, shared between the players who mined it by how much of it each one took.
- A star does not wait. One that is not mined out within 11 minutes burns out, with a warning five minutes before.
- A Star Sprite appears when the core breaks. Walk up to it within about a minute and it pays Mining XP and a few items for the Stardust you mined from that star: gems, ores from the star's layers, and Astral runes.
- The sprite keeps a shop. Press E beside it to open the game's own shop screen and spend Stardust.
- Stardust is an item in your pack, with its own icon. The mod keeps the count in its own save.
- Two titles. Starlover for mining 1,337 Stardust in all, and Starcaller for calling seven stars. Your title is shown when you call a star. Type
star titlein the console to toggle between them or off.
