TRAIN SUMMONING AND BRING A FAMILIAR TO YOUR SIDE: A LESSER DRAGON TO FIGHT, OR A SKILLING FAMILIAR TO HELP YOU WORK.
Summoning Skill adds a new Summoning skill to the Skills menu, inspired by the Summoning skill in RuneScape 3. Craft summoning pouches, use them to summon a friendly familiar, and level Summoning all the way to 99 for the Summoning skillcape.
WHAT IT ADDS
- The Summoning skill: levels 1-99 in the Skills menu, on the game's usual XP curve.
- XP: crafting a pouch gives 20 / 30 / 45 / 60 XP (Green / Blue / Red / Black dragon), 25 for the Lava Titan and 15 for the Beaver. Summoning with one gives 30 / 45 / 70 / 90, 40 for the Lava Titan and 25 for the Beaver.
- Longer familiars: each level above 1 adds 5 seconds to your familiar's time out, from 3 minutes at level 1 to about 11 minutes at 99. The Skills menu lists the bonus on every level.
- Summoning skillcape: level 99 unlocks the Summoning Cape at the Mystic Forge, next to the game's own skillcapes. With 99 in another skill as well, the Summoning Cape (Trimmed) unlocks too, and a Summoning Cape you own turns trimmed.
- Four dragon pouches: Green, Blue, Red and Black Dragon Pouch. They stack to 99.
- Wild-matched dragons: each dragon has the same power level and moveset as its wild counterpart (Green 5, Blue 6, Red 7, Black 8). It fights your enemies and never you, other players, their familiars or their buildings.
- Two skilling familiars. They follow you, never fight, and enemies ignore them. While one is out, it boosts a skill:
- Lava Titan Pouch: +15% mining critical hit chance and +15% mining critical hit damage. A towering rock giant whose lava cracks glow and flow.
- Beaver Pouch: +15% woodcutting critical hit chance and +15% woodcutting critical hit damage. A small beaver that bounds along beside you.
- One familiar at a time:
- Using the pouch for the familiar that's already out does nothing, and you keep the pouch.
- Using a different pouch replaces your familiar, including Buddy from the Pharaoh's Sceptre.
- Summoning Obelisk: a new crafting station with a softly pulsing vein. Build it from the build menu for 30 Stone (Crafting > Tools, Weapons & Armour, next to the Rune Altar). Craft pouches there, in its Summoning section:
- Dragon pouches: 1 dragonhide of its colour + 5 Coarse Thread.
- Lava Titan Pouch: 1 Refined Obsidian + 5 Coarse Thread.
- Beaver Pouch: 5 Ash Logs + 5 Coarse Thread.
WHAT'S COMING? (This is subject to feedback so please let me know what you would like to see!)
- More skilling familiars, for other skills.
Let me know what you would like to see first!
REQUIREMENTS
- UE4SS installed for RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
- RuneSchema (free community framework by the RSDW Modding Community, link at the bottom of this page). It loads this mod's pak and adds the Summoning Obelisk to the build menu.
- Summoning Skill (RuneSchema items), this mod's add-on, same version as this mod. It puts the Summoning Obelisk in the build menu; without it, pouches can't be crafted.

- Multiplayer: every player in the world needs the same version of this mod.
- Optional: Mod Menu adds this mod's settings to the in-game pause menu.

INSTALL
1. Close the game. Install UE4SS and RuneSchema first.
2. Extract the Summoning Skill files into your game folder (...\steamapps\common\RSDragonwilds\), so that inside RSDragonwilds\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\:
- SummoningMod\ exists
- RuneSchema\mods\SummoningMod\paks\ contains SummoningMod_P.pak, .utoc and .ucas
3. Extract Summoning Skill (RuneSchema items) into RSDragonwilds\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\RuneSchema\mods\, so that RuneSchema\mods\SummoningMod\buildings\ sits next to paks\.
4. Start the game. RuneSchema enables the mod by itself (check for the line "SummoningMod : 1" in RuneSchema\mods\runeschema.txt). If the add-on is missing, a message on screen tells you so.
UNINSTALL (PLEASE READ)
The game won't load a character that has items or skills it doesn't know, so let the mod clean up first. Your Summoning skill and its XP are removed for good.
1. Turn on uninstall mode:
- With Mod Menu: press Esc, click MODS, pick Summoning Mod and tick Uninstall mode.
- Without it: open RSDragonwilds\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\SummoningMod\settings.txt (it opens in Notepad). Change "uninstall = no" to "uninstall = yes" and save it.
2. Load each character you used the mod with (any world will do). A message on screen confirms it's uninstalling. The mod removes the Summoning skill, the pouches and capes you carry or wear, their recipes and your familiar.
- Optional: load each world where you built a Summoning Obelisk to get its 30 Stone back. Obelisks you leave are removed by RuneSchema once the mod is gone, without a refund.
3. Save and quit, then delete the ue4ss\Mods\SummoningMod and ue4ss\Mods\RuneSchema\mods\SummoningMod folders (the second one removes the RuneSchema items add-on too). You can keep RuneSchema for other mods.
Keep the RuneSchema items add-on installed until you've done steps 1 and 2, so the mod can find your obelisks and refund their Stone.
Already deleted it and a character won't load? Install the mod again, then follow the steps above.
SAVE SAFETY
- The Summoning skill, pouches, capes and recipes are registered with the game before any save loads. Your Summoning XP is saved like any other skill's.
- Recipe unlocks are never written to your save.
- If anything goes wrong at startup, the mod switches off its crafting rather than risk your save.
- Back up your saves before trying any mod. They're in %LOCALAPPDATA%\RSDragonwilds\Saved
