Universal Base Storage

Universal Base Storage connects the real storage containers at every available base belonging to the same guild, allowing their materials to be used as one shared resource pool for building, crafting and player-started production.

Materials gathered at Base A can be used from Base B without manually transporting stacks between specialized bases. Every base, chest and assigned Pal remains independent, and items stay inside their real Palworld containers until Palworld consumes them.

Version 1.1.6

Version 1.1.6 includes canonical combined totals, remote building transactions, workbench crafting and production support, and protection against duplicate container counting when distant bases are kept loaded.

Building, Primitive Workbench production and remote material deduction have been tested successfully on a dedicated server.

How It Works

When Palworld calculates a building, crafting or supported production cost, Universal Base Storage temporarily connects the target base to the real storage containers available at the guild's other bases.

Palworld performs its normal affordability check and consumes the required items from those real containers. The temporary connection is removed after the request. The mod does not copy items, permanently merge chest inventories or save a second inventory system.

Opening a chest still displays only that chest's physical contents.

Requirements

A Palworld-compatible UE4SS installation.
The identical Universal Base Storage version installed on the dedicated server and every connecting client.
Matching Palworld and mod versions between the server and clients.

UE4SS Experimental for Palworld is recommended. Follow the UE4SS installation instructions appropriate for your Palworld version.

Installing Universal Base Storage on only the server or only the client is not supported. The server performs the authoritative validation and deduction, while the client displays combined totals and submits requests using remote materials.

Installation

Close Palworld and stop the dedicated server before installing or updating.

Extract the archive into the UE4SS Mods folder on the server and every player's client.

The completed structure should be:

Restart the server and clients after installation.

Distant Bases and Z's Chunk Loader

Universal Base Storage can only use containers that Palworld has loaded and made available. Palworld may stream distant bases out of memory, especially after a dedicated server restart. Materials at an unloaded base cannot be connected until that base becomes available.

Z's Chunk Loader is strongly recommended on dedicated servers with distant bases. It keeps base-related world cells resident and helps cold bases load after startup, allowing Universal Base Storage to discover their containers without requiring a player to visit every base first.

Z's Chunk Loader is a separate mod and is not included in this archive.

Current Limitations and Known Issues

Only storage containers currently available to Palworld can be connected.
Normal storage containers are supported; guild chest integration is not currently included.
Opening a chest does not show a merged slot inventory.
Immediately after placing a structure, the displayed total may briefly show a local or partial value before recalculating to the correct combined total. The real construction cost is still deducted correctly.
Equipment repair needs broader beta testing.
Specialized production stations and simultaneous requests from multiple players need broader beta testing.

If a structure or production job ever succeeds without deducting its material cost, stop using the mod and report the relevant log lines immediately.

Updating

Stop the server and game, replace the UniversalBaseStorage folder on both sides, and restart. Do not mix different client and server versions.

Uninstalling

Stop the server and game, then remove or disable the UniversalBaseStorage folder on both sides.

Universal Base Storage creates no separate inventory and requires no save conversion. Stored items remain in their original Palworld containers.

Troubleshooting

Check UE4SS.log and search for UniversalBaseStorage.

If shared materials are missing:

Confirm the same mod version is installed on the server and client.
Confirm `UniversalBaseStorage/enabled.txt` and `UniversalBaseStorage/dlls/main.dll` exist.
Restart the server and client.
Allow time for distant bases and containers to finish loading.
Install or verify Z's Chunk Loader when distant bases remain unavailable.
Check `UE4SS.log` for reflection, restore or safety errors.

Reporting a Beta Issue

Please include:

Palworld version.
UE4SS version.
Universal Base Storage version.
Dedicated server, co-op or single-player.
Number of guild bases.
Displayed and actual material counts before and after the action.
Relevant `UniversalBaseStorage` lines from `UE4SS.log`.
