The Dhananayagan fort, Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu

The Dhananayagan fort, located within the water catchment area of Bhavani Sagar Dam, Tamil Nadu is a testimony. Visible only when water reaches low levels, this structure has been preserved in almost its complete form till today.

Dating back to the 13th century, the now dam's catchment area was a rural living zone of many villages.
