Disclaimer: This build obviously takes a ludicrous amount of iron.

Features:

1. Completely silent (except for rare situations when the incinerator is engaged)

2. 4x sorting speed over other designs on YouTube (5 items/sec vs. 1.25 items/sec)

3. Iron, gold, and food are automatically smelted. Other items (which can be used for other things) are only smelted when storage for the source material is in overflow, or the system is set to force smelting.

4. System scales to smelt up to 5 items/sec.

5. Coal and charcoal are automatically routed to the furnace fuel supply, before overflowing into a single storage slot.

6. Low fuel warning light flashes if the system gets low on fuel.

7. Item flow control circuits ensure each furnace is supplied with items in multiples of 8 in order to maximize fuel efficiency. Different item types can be mixed to achieve the 8 item threshold.

8. When the resulting item is in an overflow state, the source item will be cut off from being smelted, to avoid wasting fuel on items that might be incinerated.

9. Overflow silo can be flushed to the incinerator, or set to re-sort everything.

10. Overflow for the overflow silo is automatically routed to the incinerator.

11. Furnace system can be set to auto-collect everything for sorting, or set to "XP Mode" for manual collection.

12. Storage capacity of 478 stacks for each item, with overflow indicator which activates at 94% capacity.

13. Alternative input for mob farms, mineshafts, etc. with two buffer chests, and sorting priority given to player deposit chest.

System quirks (issues):

1. The system may hold up to 14 items (7 in each of the two pipelines) while the system waits for enough items to send 8 items to a furnace. These items will be processed when more items to be smelted are added.

2. Each individual flow control circuit can only accept up to 4 types of items for a given 8 item quota. Due to this limitation, in rare circumstances (when lots of types of only a few items are deposited) more than 14 items may be held by the system. These items will be automatically processed as more items of the same types are added. It will not jam the system. Flow control circuits will always accept cobblestone, so setting the system to force smelt, and adding cobblestone is the quickest way to flush these items out.
