SV Real Sky

For too long, the StellarView skies above and below the galactic plane have been barren. Using the relatively underutilized Constellation mechanic, this has been rectified.

Generated from data in the Hipparcos-Yale-Gliese catalog using a custom script. All stars brighter than Mag +7.5 have been drawn, 24,969 in all. Stars have been colored and scaled based on spectral data, and transparency is based on magnitude.

The Orion and Pleades asterisms built into StellarView were clobbered, as this resource pack redraws them. Sol, Rigil Kentaurus, Toliman, Proxima Centauri, and Betelgeuse were skipped, as they already exist as objects. The base Milky Way star field has not been altered, and still adds its own stars.
