Skyliner Modern: A Neutral font for Minecraft

Skyliner Modern serves as a more legible alternative to Minecraft's iconic "Mojangles." It prioritizes clarity, simplicity, and readability.

I designed Skyliner Modern as a permutation of a typeface I created called Geo, a grotesk with a hint of geometric influence. Geo was intended to be highly legible and tonally neutral, while retaining some of the warmth and character found in geometric typefaces without becoming too stylized.

For Skyliner Modern, I adapted Geo to a 32x32 pixel grid, modifying some characters to read better in pixel resolution. I've adjusted certain letterforms to accommodate Minecraft's built-in kerning tables, so the letter spacing remains fairly even.
