As a little thank you to the community for all the amazing mods and resource packs available, I present my little contribution- a small, simple resource pack with great role play/ storytelling potential. Would you like to add a world weary Illager that traded his crossbow for a hoe to your village? How about a visiting Illager diplomat living with you as a bid to make peace between the factions? Maybe you would like a whole town of pacifist Illagers to trade with? Simply rename any Villager to anything containing the word "Redeemed", and he will become an Illager while maintaining his biome/profession clothing and trades. Any name should suffice. "The Redeemed", "Redeemed Illager", "Squiggy the Redeemed", simply "Redeemed", or for the grammatically underprivileged, "redeemed".

If you do not like the word "Redeemed", you may edit the villager.properties file in the pack and change the word "redeemed" to whatever suits your game. Enjoy "Squiggy the Pacifist" or an "Illager Rebel".

Mod Compatibility

This resource pack only changes the base villager texture, under the clothing layers, so it should work smoothly with any mod that adds new village professions or biomes as long as they do not change the base village model. I personally use the Friends & Foes and Disc holder & DJ mods, and this works fine with the Beekeeper and DJ respectively. This pack is also compatible with the Village Guards mod. Pre-existing guards can be turned into redeemed Illagers, and redeemed Illager villagers will turn into Illager guards when given a weapon. If anyone wants compatibility for any mod that does not use standard villager models, or found a mod where this pack does not work for some reason, please let me know.

Requirements

This pack was built for 1.19.2 and it requires Optifine or an equivalent to function.

Known Issues

Swamp villagers maintain some regular villager skin under their leaf hats after being renamed. This is due to that patch of skin being on the biome attire texture for the swamp.
