This pack utilizes and expands on the palette and iron block texture by SeiyoNoShogun/RallenX3
This is a 1.20.1 pack that unifies the textures for all iron blocks and items with a gritty, more realistic look. The textures are made to look worn, but durable. There are no extensive rust streaks on my textures, but there are scrapes and scuds and divets. Iron should look heavy and reliable.
FAQ:
Q: Make it for X version!
A: Chances are it already works minus new items/blocks. I am not responsible for vanilla versions above 1.20.1. I will update mod support for versions I personally use. This takes a lot of time and is namely a personal project.
Q: Can this be used standalone?
A: YES, this is a standalone pack with no dependencies.
Q: Can you do support for X mod?
A: If I know the mod and have played with it in the past and liked it then chances are YES, I may add mod support. As it stands I haven't even worked on the mod support that I plan, so hold your horses.
Q: Why isn't X mod supported?
A: I don't like it, I haven't heard of it, or I've never played with it.
Q: Why did you make this pack?
A: I have always disliked the poor consistency of iron's items, blocks, and models. It flip-flops from smooth to cast to something in between way too often for my taste. It's perfectly possible, as this pack proves, to use a single palette to make cast-iron and polished iron appear unique and unified simultaneously. Also Iron Golems make no sense but neither does mine \o/
Unfinished/Can't Decide:
- The iron golem texture is flawed in that I couldn't get emissives or animated textures to work without bricking resource pack load. If anyone has experience doing animated mob textures with EMF I'd be happy to try any tips.
- Modern MC iron items from 1.21+
