Total differences: 10,880 files added (9,721 Respackopts config files, 1,159 new files), 789 files modified.
- I'm still porting the Java item models over to Bedrock, so I've been reworking item models along the way. (I want to play my own pack on the Switch 2)
- If you install the Respackopts mod, a "Configure" button appears in the resource pack list — there are 5 toggles so far (vanilla repaint / mod repaint / vanilla redstone / mod redstone / bundled translations), so you can switch off whatever you don't need
2. Texture & model changes
⚙️ Pack config (Respackopts)
- What it does: with the Respackopts mod installed, a "Configure" button shows up on the right side of the resource pack list, letting you turn off the vanilla repaint / the mod repaint / vanilla redstone / mod redstone / bundled translations — all on by default
- Why I bothered: someone said they only wanted the redstone parts of the pack. I don't really want to split the pack into several versions, since that's a pain to maintain, so supporting Respackopts means you can switch off the parts you don't want. Pretty neat.
- So what's the catch?: to sort the content into groups I had to add 9,721 config files (874 directory-level + 8,847 file-level). The file count exploded.
🛠 Crafting table rework
- The crafting table had the hanging side tool models removed, and a new tool model placed on the tabletop: it now randomly shows a wooden axe / iron axe / saw / shears
⚔ Tool models revamp
- Every tool model has been redone — I hope you'll like the new designs after all that fine-tuning (weapons are still being worked on)
- Shears (texture tweak), stick (model revamp), fishing rod (held angle / position adjusted)
✨ Armor trim templates (Smithing Template): fully covered
- Trims are sorted into three groups: a green stripe at the bottom = obtainable in the Overworld, red = obtainable in the Nether, yellow = obtainable in the End
- 15 new trim models: bolt, coast, dune, flow, host, raiser, rib, sentry, shaper, silence, snout, vex, ward, wayfinder, wild — each with a self-illuminated look, so the pattern stays readable in the dark
- eye, spire, tide and the netherite upgrade template got matching model and texture revamps
- Mod-specific templates also got textures and models: Supplementaries' Blast trim, Born in Chaos dark upgrade, NewWorld's mattock template
- The worn-armor texture for the
snouttrim was tweaked (coverage on the armor textures is still very poor, and I don't yet know how to handle it or push it further)
🌿 Blocks & world
- Grass block: a third random top texture added (more variants to come)
- Snow & paths: snow block, snow layers, snow sides and dirt path textures tweaked (someone said the snow was too glaring, so I added a little pale blue)
- Connected glass revamp: the connected glass textures are now semi-transparent, and the top / bottom faces are now distinct from the sides
- Most of the falling-leaf particles are now covered
- Logs: both vanilla and modded logs are being revamped following the "thin bark / medium bark / thick bark" grouping
- Some block textures had their colors and texture logic tweaked to fit the new design language
- 26.3's camp beds, cushions and so on are covered too; this time I focused on testing 26.3 compatibility — found a lot of issues, and most of them are fixed
🐷 Entities & spawn eggs
- All cows: fixed the bug cows had in 26.3 (no idea if dropping back to 1.21.1 breaks it — not tested yet; multi-version compatibility is painful)
- Pig entity model: new ear-wiggle animation over time
- Shulker boxes: the design now matches the Enderman (let me know if you're not into it — I can change it back if the feedback is bad)
- Entity texture revamp: quite a few entity textures were redone, some got baby variants as well, though it's not all done yet
- Spawn egg models updated: a batch of spawn eggs got new models and textures
- Status effect icons: blindness and weakness (weakness now has a downward-pointing background texture, though this isn't fully rolled out yet)
🖥 UI (HUD / GUI)
- Hotbar revamped, off-hand texture and selection frame redone to match
- Advancements screen updated — it looks better than before, but it's not finished (the hover UI stretches, which is driving me crazy)
- Some vanilla and mod UIs were also redone in the new design language
3. Mod coverage details
- Lootr: the loot barrel model is finally complete, plus a full copper chest set (oxidized, weathered, corroded, waxed oxidized, waxed weathered, waxed corroded... stop reading them out already!), though the copper chests aren't finished yet...
- Biomes O' Plenty: a bunch of trees and plants you see out in the world were redone, plus 56 particle textures
- Friends and Foes: fixed a few issues from 26.3
- JEI: the 26.3 button textures are covered; the rest of the screen isn't fully covered yet
- Cherished Worlds: the 26.3 button textures are covered
- Regions Unexplored: a bunch of trees and plants you see out in the world were redone
