Medieval Realism
Grounded, period-film lighting for Minecraft. Think candle-lit taverns, misty mornings over a village and grey overcast rain on wet cobblestone, not a fantasy glow-fest.
Features
- Physically based sky: real sunrises and sunsets, a proper moon, stars and dark, moonlit nights
- Soft shadows: contact-hardening on High/Ultra, and coloured shadows through stained glass
- Firelight: warm torches, lanterns, campfires and candles with a subtle, natural flicker
- Atmosphere: height fog, morning valley mist and volumetric light shafts
- Fluffy volumetric clouds on Medium and up, puffy 2D clouds on Potato/Low
- Rain: wet, darker stone, wood and dirt, with puddles on flat ground
- Water: reflections, refraction, depth-based colour and caustics
- LabPBR 1.3: normal maps, specular, emissive and parallax occlusion mapping, plus good fallbacks for packs without PBR maps
- Filmic grade: AgX/ACES tonemapping, earthy colours, restrained bloom, auto exposure
- Settings menu in English and Português (Brasil)
Profiles
- Potato: integrated graphics and very old GPUs
- Low: low-performance PCs. Low mode is perfect for them; the author plays on a Radeon RX 550 with it
- Medium (default): mainstream mid-range GPUs at 1080p
- High: upper mid-range and high-end GPUs
- Ultra: high-end GPUs
Requirements
- Minecraft Java 26.3 with Fabric
- Sodium 0.9.2+ and Iris 1.11.7+
- Graphics backend set to OpenGL in Video Settings. Iris does not run on Vulkan.
Recommended resource pack
Patrix 32x (free, LabPBR, built for shaders). Install the Continuity mod with it, or Patrix's grass shows "ENABLE CONNECT TEXTURE". For a lighter option without PBR, try John Smith Legacy.
