CineReal — Cinematic Realism Shaders
A cinematic, atmosphere-first shader pack for Minecraft (Iris + Sodium). CineReal blends filmic color grading with grounded, believable lighting — dramatic skies, mirror-like water, block-shaped volumetric clouds, and a moody per-dimension atmosphere — while staying true to Minecraft's blocky charm.
Cinematic grading
- ACES filmic tonemapping with exposure control
- Teal-&-orange split toning (cool shadows, warm highlights)
- Vignette, film grain, chromatic aberration and an optional letterbox
- Deep, non-milky blacks and dramatic sunrises/sunsets
Water & reflections
- Real 3D wave ripples with distance-based detail
- Screen-space reflections: water mirrors the actual scene — shores, builds, terrain
- Sky and cloud reflections, with a soft moon/sun glint
- Fresnel-correct reflectivity (grazing angles reflect more)
Block reflections
- Metal blocks (iron, gold, diamond, netherite, copper…) reflect the scene, tinted by their own color
- Polished/smooth blocks & quartz/prismarine reflect at grazing angles
- Glass & ice reflect the sky and turn less transparent at glancing angles — like real glass
Sky & clouds
- Custom block-shaped volumetric clouds: rounded puffs that connect into natural shapes and drift slowly
- Cloud shadows on the ground that match the clouds above, with soft edges
- God rays / volumetric light through trees and builds
Atmosphere
- Biome-tinted (or plain white) distant haze
- Underwater god rays — teal light shafts from the surface
- Dramatic Nether (red haze, glowing lava) and aurora-style End sky
- Waving grass, crops, leaves and vines with rolling wind gusts
Lighting
- Warm, cozy block light with cloud-shadow sun occlusion
- Emissive blocks and light sources bloom naturally
- Caves & deep water stay readable, never washed out
Requirements: Iris + Sodium (recommended & tested). Also works on OptiFine where a compatible version exists.
