Do you want Minecraft to be Challenging?
A REAL challenge, where your skills and strategy mean more than anything else, lies ahead in Zephyr.
As a lightweight, vanilla-expanded challenge, Zephyrpac was made while focusing on combat, base defense, and resource management. With semi-realistic and immersive mechanics, an overhauled and modular weapon system, and monsters that you can really fear, Zephyr will test the limits of your abilities.
Your wit, skills, and vigilance will be crucial to survival in this hostile landscape. Are you ready to tackle new threats – where your every decision, mistake, and advancement will determine your fate?
A tale of legend is bound for those bold enough to face the winds of Zephyr. Are you ready to forge your legacy in a world that demands more than survival- but mastery?

Forget what you know of the Vanilla world. Here in Zephyr, mobs threaten fortresses, winter brings bone-chilling cold, and the importance of food, automation, and subtle necessities defines a survivor’s wealth. Move with caution, though, as if death finds you, it will steal a piece of your life. But fear not, for opportunities to reclaim your hearts exist; you just need to find them.
⚙️ Master the Create Mod:
Automation using the Create Mod is HIGHLY recommended. As a means to produce various valuable supplies, learning to utilize automation will be a big part of your success. Lumber farms, chainmail grinders, and simple, automatic cobblestone generators will supply you with important materials, allowing you to focus on fortifying your defenses and upgrading your tools.
🌲 Build Wisely, Survive Strategically:
Large caves are particularly hostile in Zephyr. Never enter them while unprepared. The surface is dangerous as well, for monsters lurk in the shadows amidst untamed forests and cliffsides. Build a base that will survive the mobs that come to raid you, hire villagers and iron golems to defend your home, and establish a civilization that will persevere through the world's dangers.
🔥 Conquer the Brutal Nether:
The Nether is particularly unforgiving nowadays... You will need to insulate your armor with leather using a sewing table if you want to survive that fiery realm. Use an icebox to chill waterskins, stock up on water bottles, or wear insulated armor to fend off heatstroke! With the right preparation, you’ll gather the loot you need to progress.
Zephyr welcomes those daring enough to face its wrath. Are you ready to prove your survival skills and conquer these lands? Grab your friends, brace yourselves, and may the winds of Zephyr carry you forward!
Now, onto some tips that should clear up this pack’s main gameplay elements!

You lose a heart when you die, but you can craft them back or find them in chests. (Search heart container in JEI. You can also craft pieces of them with gold apples and melons!)
Terrain affects your movement speed. Build paths or cut down tall grass!
☠️ Monsters can see you through walls and from quite far away... Worst of all, CREEPERS. Each creeper has a chance to detonate when close to you, even through walls… Also, a very small amount will choose to BREACH when walls get in their path and are within a certain distance. Take that as you will… Just know that not many houses will last through the night. Be clever when fortifying your base!

🛠️ TETRA MOD IS GOOD. Normal wooden tools are extremely weak. The Tetra mod allows you to modify these tools in a MODULAR fashion. Craft a wooden hammer and create a workbench from a crafting table. From there, you can explore the diverse UI to upgrade, change, and improve any tool using many different materials. You’ll need axes, knives, and your trusty hammer to modify your gear, and don’t forget to upgrade your hammers for later upgrades! [wood, stone, metal, etc.]
Be sure to check the sockets for each tool! There are interesting weapons that you can make from each kind of tool.
♨️❄️ Temperature is very important to prepare for. Your safe temperatures [by the thermometer on the bottom right] go from 50 🧊 to 100. If your temperature is past either of those extremes, your core temperature will change [the number above your hot bar]. If this number reaches 100 on either side, you will begin to take damage. You can apply leather to ANY armor at the sewing table to insulate yourself, or use waterskins heated or chilled in [boiler, ice box], then put it in your hot bar to stay comfortable. ONLY the one in your hot bar will lose its temperature! You can also consume certain foods and drink water to normalize your temperatures!
🥞🧇🫐🍒🥐 Food is important. You WILL lose hunger by running, fighting, mining, and standing still, so having enough food is VERY IMPORTANT. Not only that, but there is a nutrient system, too. You can see the nutrition of each food by hovering over it. You can click the little bread icon in the inventory to see your nutritional standing! If you maintain a good diet, you will get considerably buffed; the latter will weaken you… I suggest checking it every so often!
My final tip is a little wrap-up of a common first day. Find food; you burn through it extremely fast if you get into a fight. Then, get wood and some tools if you have time, then either dig a little safety bunker deep underground or find some other means of survival. Or… try to hide out in a ruined structure. That always works for me! Good luck out there!
Final note: Hello, I made this modpack because I wanted a survival experience in MC that was more focused on a player’s ability to think broadly, make decisions, and build strong bases. I never found RLCraft very fun because of the RNG of some monsters spawning and the grittiness of the level grinding… So, I made this pack through a lot of play testing and effort! It took a lot of configuration in the configs to make it function at a "fair" level, so let me know if you find anything that is broken. Oh, and- if you REALLY want to make this more realistic and hard, add the First Aid mod! UPDATE: I finally beat the end. Now, I'll be working on a video featuring the first aid mod. GGs~ Blue.
