Zed Survival brings Killing Floor 2 style co-op to Minecraft. Survive the night waves, earn dosh for every kill, spend it at the trader, and take down a boss every few days. Best with friends, and Simple Voice Chat is built in.
The zeds

Nine kinds of zed, each with its own job:
- Clots and Crawlers swarm you.
- Gorefasts charge in.
- Bloats spew vomit up close.
- Husks lob fireballs from range.
- Sirens scream.
- Stalkers creep up on you.
- Scrakes and Fleshpounds hit like trucks.
They dig through walls, climb, and come for your base, and every wave hits harder than the last.
The bosses
Every few days a boss arrives: Hans Volter, the King Fleshpound or the Abomination. Each has its own attacks. The Patriarch waits on the final day. Beat him to win the run, then keep going in endless mode if you dare.
Guns, gore and Zed Time
- Real guns from TaCZ, with recoil, reloads and attachments.
- Headshots, flying limbs and dismemberment: shoot a leg off and the zed crawls.
- Kill streaks trigger KF-style slow-motion Zed Time.
Perks and the trader

- Pick from six perks: Berserker, Commando, Support, Gunslinger, Sharpshooter and SWAT.
- Level them up and choose skills along the way.
- Between waves, buy guns, ammo and armor upgrades from the trader with the dosh you earned.
- After waves, pick one of three relics for a temporary boost.
- Downed teammates can be revived.
Game modes

- Survival: waves, the trader, bosses and a final boss. Four difficulties, from Normal to Hell on Earth; higher ones give more perk XP.
- Crate Run: endless zeds, no building and no breaks. Survive as long as you can and farm crates.
Cosmetics

Zeds drop crates, and you open them in your Locker. Inside:
- gun skins
- Counter-Strike-style gloves
- Strange weapons that count your kills
- Unusual effects
- kill effects
- titles, name colours and armor trims

You can inspect everything in 3D, CS2 style.
Build your base

- Build with what the trader sells. The world itself is protected, so you can’t dig into hills or tear apart villages. You can only break blocks a player placed.
- Zeds dig, and it takes time. Wood falls fast, cobblestone holds much longer and stone bricks longer still. Zeds dig faster every wave.
- Weak spots get punished. Scrakes, Fleshpounds and bosses tear through doors, glass, bars and fences.
- Husks and Bloats lay siege from range. They stop and attack your walls from a distance when you hide behind them.
- Zeds climb. If they can’t get through, they come over the top.
- The Builder’s Hammer upgrades blocks in place, without tearing anything down:
- planks → cobblestone → stone bricks → blackstone bricks
- leaves → fences → iron bars, and wooden doors → iron doors
- The hammer also repairs cracked blocks, and cracks fade over time if nothing keeps hitting them.
- A base pays off. Every block still standing at the end of a wave earns you dosh. Kills made from inside your base pay the builder a cut. The Support perk earns XP for building and repairing.
- Zeds never spawn right next to your buildings, so a base is your safe zone. Until they break in, anyway.
(Crate Run has no building: it’s just you and the horde.)
Thanks
Huge thanks to the testers who survived countless broken builds: Xanix, Lneko, Meme, Dunzo and Silvester.
Special thanks to Lneko for adding dual-wielding pistols.
