Wonderful Inefficiency is designed for groups who don't get to play together very often.
The quest book guides you through the main mods, and aims to reward you generously to make the pack easy to play and the mods easier to understand and use.
The quest book has guides for: Create, Ice and Fire, Blood Magic, Astral Sorcery, Ars Nouveau, Applied Energistics 2, and MineColonies. No chapters are locked, so you can pick and choose how to progress. If you have many people playing with you, each person can even claim a branch as their own.
Oh the Biomes You'll Go and Fire and Ice provide rewarding landscapes for adventurers. Ars, Astral Sorcery, and Blood Magic have good depth to them to anyone looking to really sink their teeth into progression and advancement. Create and Applied Energistics are there for anyone who wants to focus on automation.
This modpack intentionally lacks any pipes mods or any other automation mods. This is intended to encourage players to do things a little inefficiently! I've found that when playing many modpacks my friends and I end up having only one base for everything and beelining towards one-block machines that automate processes. Wonderful Inefficiency encourages you to have multiple bases and to solve problems in fun and interesting ways, even if they get a little convoluted. Applied Energistics is present, but you are encouraged to use it only for storage; Create provides more fun and interesting ways of automating processes.
When creating a world, The Lost Cities can provide an alternate challenging, but interesting and rewarding world to explore full of abandoned buildings. To give it a try, Click the Cities button under More World Options, and click the button that says Disabled to choose a profile, or customize the values to what you like.
I made this pack for me and my friends to use; I'm making it public just in case others in a similar situation would like a pack to let them try these mods.
I don't intend to support it long term, but if you have an idea for improvements, increased stability, or a very glaring bug, you are still welcome to send me a message.
