The kingdom of Aldrain was the most powerful of nations. Their economy stood strong, their knights and mages stronger. Dwarves, Elves, Humans and even Orcs came from all across the lands to have a stay in Aldrain. No one of their world could contend to their might.
That’s why it took another world to make them fall.
It started all with the young princess of Aldrain finding an ancient ruin. A rectangle crafted of obsidian, and a small scroll of a fire spell in a chest near it. She played with the fire spell, until one rogue fireball hit the frame, causing a purple portal to appear within.
She went through and found a hellish world. People who resembled swine, crying and floating monstrosities that shot fire from their mouths, creatures of fire, rods and smoke. It was a disgusting world, and it would only be a matter of time before they discovered the portal.
The young princess ran home to tell her father and the prince of the portal. They laughed her off, and told her to stop playing make believe. And because of their lack of belief, the piglins had enough time to amass their forces in the overworld.
Thus started the war. Aldrain had finally met an opponent stronger than them, with stronger mages, stronger brutes, stronger golems. The nether war over running the kingdom. All that was left was their final city.
The royals had fallen to the nether forces since then. The king and his two children, their skulls charred and withered from the flames that had burnt them to death.
The kingdom was on the edge of defeat, until the highest mages decided to do a magic so unholy, so unthinkable, to try and win the war.
They needed to make a god.
They put the three royals heads together, and cast all of their magic into them. They imbued the skulls with the power of a star, the power of the nether, and the power over death. They called their weapon of war “The Wither”
.
The Wither was successful. Its force alone was enough to send the nether forces fleeing, its Wither Skeletons enough to keep the nether at bay forever. What was left of Aldrain celebrated its victory. Little did they know the just ended the world.
A creature made for war and death only wants one thing. War and death. The Wither turned on its creators, and began attacking the people it was made to save.
The people of Aldrain were forced underground, searching through the tunnels of the earth, drudging deeper and deeper… until they found something so beautiful.
Hills of candy, caves of magnets, lands filled with reptilian beasts. This would be their new home.
A spell was cast to keep the Wither from being able to enter their new home, and to keep the people from going back to the uninhabitable, withered surface.
Generations have past. It’s been 387 years. The Wither is nothing but a children’s story to the people of the Primordial Caves, the Magnetic Caves, the Toxic Caves, the Abyssal Chasm, the Candy Cavity and the Forlorn Hollows.
However, the Wither is still very, very real. Now that it’s wiped out the rest of the surface, it plans to dig deep. To finish its work on the former people of Aldrain.
