WildTrails
WildTrails is a camping-focused wilderness survival modpack built around changing seasons, varied and immersive travel, and taking the time to slow down.
The world is meant to be walked through, not rushed. Days are for hiking across mountains, forests, and valleys. Nights are for stopping — setting up camp, lighting a fire, cooking what you’ve gathered, and resting before moving on again.
Food matters here, but not in a punishing way. With Farmer’s Delight and its addons, meals feel intentional and comforting. Simple foods get you by, but proper meals reward preparation. Sometimes that means a full cooked dish. Sometimes it’s just sitting by the fire, roasting something small, and taking a moment before turning in.
Seasons shape how the world behaves. Animals don’t act the same year-round. Some are more active in warmer months, others retreat or migrate as conditions change. The land feels alive, but not hostile — it exists on its own terms.
WildTrails uses custom datapacks to guide these behaviors quietly in the background. They’re not here to make the game harder for the sake of difficulty, but to add rhythm and believability. Rest becomes important over time. Camps feel like places of safety, not permanent solutions. The world responds naturally rather than escalating into constant danger.
This is not a hardcore survival pack. There are no temperature meters, thirst systems, or extreme punishment mechanics. The challenge comes from planning your days, respecting the environment, and knowing when to stop and make camp.
WildTrails is about the small moments: a warm fire after a long walk, a well-cooked meal, a quiet night under the stars, and the feeling that the world is moving along with you.
Author’s Note
WildTrails is my first full modpack and my first time creating custom datapacks. It’s been tested for regular gameplay, but there may be edge cases I’m unable to address. I appreciate your understanding.
