Whispers Of The Pine

Whispers Of The Pine is a winter themed horror modpack based in the Canadian Yukon after a snowstorm hit the area.

"What features does this mod have?"

This mod has very dense forestry, making it feel very claustrophobic and unnerving where anything could be lurking and hiding. Abandoned houses, watchtowers and even villages are scattered throughout the world as a sign of life before this snowstorm. It also features more hardcore features such as a thirst bar, a temperature meter, and individual limb damage. Making you focused at all times, the modpack also features new Canadian wildlife, badgers and deers, and other animals will roam the world. Feral wolves also tend to roam the forests and will attack you on sight. Vanilla mobs such as zombies, skeletons and spiders etc are still in the game. Every biome has snow.

"Upon spawning, what do I get?"

Upon spawn, you will receive a sniper rifle to defend yourself. Be careful as it has very limited ammunition. A flashlight, to light up dark areas and to be used when nighttime arrives. At night, it will become pitch black. A lantern, to be used to hang inside your tent, or to equip onto your belt for more light. Some canned food that you packed for your journey, it will restore your hunger back fully. But it is very limited. Ration it wisely. A canteen, used for your thirst. When put into a furnace, you can purify the water so that it is drinkable. A camera, to be used to photograph any paranormal activity that you will see. A tent, used for when you need a quick base set up and have nowhere to stay for the night. Very useful and convenient, it also can be used with a sleeping bag in your inventory to place, sleeping bags do not set a spawn point.

"What horror mobs will I encounter?"

You will need to be cautious of your surroundings and listen well in order to survive. Herobrine, is a stalking entity that will watch you from afar, when seen he will walk off or dissappear.

The Goatman, is the main creature of the Yukon. Responsible for many deaths. It follows and watches you, waiting for the right moment to strike. It will bellow and bleat nearby to you at random intervals to signal an attack or to simply trick you into believing it will. When seen, it will either flee or attack. However, if ignored it will also attempt to attack.

Creeping Woods revolves around hallucinations, ghostly figures and eerie sounds that will echo through the forest. Footsteps might be heard outside your tent or base as you sleep.

"What is there to do in this mod?"

Your main objectives are to capture 16 photos (A full roll of film) with your camera, and place said photos into a photo album. It's ultimately up to you how you play. You can explore abandoned structures, and uncover the truth behind the creatures that hunt you down during your stay. You will need to stay on top of making new clothing to protect yourself from the harsh cold. 

STORY/OBJECTIVES:

Friday 19th November, 1993. - The Yukon, Northwest of Canada has been hit with a bad snowstorm. Power lines have been buried and people have been evacuated in nearby towns, leaving husks of houses that were once filled with life. The police department essentially saying it's your own choice to stay, but you risk dying. It leaves many animals in danger, stranded and lost. Perfect for a predator. Right? Not the first time it's been met with such a volatile force from a storm anyway. And it won't be the last. But see, there's something strange.. About this area of Canadian Woodland. Animals have been showing up dead, like it's whole side had been ripped apart and torn till whatever was gnawing at it could see bone and bone only. People have been going missing. Claiming they'll be gone just for 5 days only for that to turn into 5 years. I've had enough of it. I'm going myself. To The Yukon.. I mean. I got a camera. I want to photograph the things I may find. Some batteries for my light, and an old hunting rifle my dad got me with a flashlight. Whatever's out there, I want closure.
