Waillio's Tech'n'RPG

Collection of world extending mods, spiced up with technical, management and RPG - for casual (yet unending) exploration, deepened base building and a little more!

This modpack is a bit of everything - the world is expanded in many directions: tech, colony management, magic, dungeons and all the sweet stuff we love. The world gets bigger with both new and revamped biomes, fresh landscapes, more interesting dungeons, new systems to learn and plenty of creatures to discover. On top of that, there are extended RPG elements - new tools and weapons, enchantments, magic and even boss fights.

All of this is here for one simple reason - dont rush. Explore at your own pace, check out whatever catches your eye, and fill your chests with things you have never seen before. Expand your base with machinery, build a railway to the nearest village, or reclaim some odd structure and turn it into your home away from home.

Future updates

This modpack will be updated in the future - I hope to be able to resolve compatibility issues regarding Continuity and Dominus Ornament (required for Minecolonies), further improve performance, add more compatible mods, and all that.
Regarding version numbering, I'm going for a classic scheme where the first number (e.g. 1.0.0 to 2.0.0) will represent major updates (such as upgrading the modpack to a new Minecraft version or significantly changing mods), the second number (e. g. 0.1.1 to 0.2.1) represents minor updates with some added or removed mods, significant settings changes, etc., and the third number (e .g. 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 ) represents minor minor updates with minor tweaks to improve stability, mod compatibility, and so on.
I will attempt to provide an extensive changelog within each version to enhance clarity, although I cannot guarantee it.

And my main goals will be to update the modpack for the new Minecraft version, tweak world generation to eliminate excessive world gen strangeness, and perhaps provide more options to customize the modpack overall (still up for debate).

Performance

Pack is quite performance heavy, due to few mods. As they are a essential to modpack, some things can be tweaked.

There is 2 semi-optional performance-heavy things in this pack:

1. Distant Horizons
2. Shaders

Overall, they can be used without one another. But considering how Distant Horizons looks without shaders, I will not recommend to use it without shaders. On the contrary, shaders works perfectly without Distant Horizons.

For Distant Horizons there is not much to tweak - in settings you can change LOD Chunk render distance, change Quality or turn it off completely.

For shaders, there is two with modpack - MakeUp and Complementary. I personally prefer Complementary, but its heavier on performance. Check both of them to find the one that suits you best. Two important features for me within Complementary shaders - fog distance and world blur. I use them to hide Distant Horizons imperfections, so keep it in mind. Also if you are using Distant Horizons and Complementary shaders, choose version with Euphoria patches.
