This is a new take on my previous modpack with some improvements and new mod choices. I didn't want to overwrite the old pack since this one adds and changes a lot of things despite being a similar concept. First off, it should run a lot better on servers now which will hopefully be nice for some people. Second, world gen has been substantially improved. Third, balance is (I think) much better overall.
The pack focuses on exploration and adventure to increase your resources while you build up your home using a combination of magic & tech mods. If you'd like, you can also make use of Minecolonies to create a wondrous home filled with NPCs to do your bidding. This pack does not use quests and does not provide a linear experience, but it does try to offer a variety of ways to tackle different problems. I've done my best to create a good balance in the difficulty. Extremely difficult monsters (such as dragons that destroy landscapes) do not appear until players are more than 5,000 blocks from the world spawn. Regular mobs will be more challenging but there are a LOT of options for improving your combat effectiveness. I've tried very hard to create a system of mods that will reward you for thinking creatively and making use of everything at your disposal rather than just punishing players for not doing what is expected.
Here's the current features and focus of the pack:
-Scaling difficulty that affects mobs throughout the world.
-Useful foods without being annoying - eat new foods to increase your max HP, eat a variety of foods to gain buffs.
-Silent Gear that can help you deal with specific problems depending on how you create your gear
-Powerful monsters that grant increased XP and drops
-A variety of relics and artifacts that can be equipped to grant boons that players can make use of
-Both magic and tech mods that are a little more involved than your average magic block solutions
-Minecolonies - what more can I say? It's a great little mod and feels wonderful when you've built up your town!
-Multiplayer - This pack is used on my SMP server and I've done the best I can to make it work for a decent amount of players.
