Biomes O'Plenty and YUNG's Better Caves improves worldgen diversity, plus dungeon generation mods for adventure.
Inegration Foregoing and Pam's Harvest Craft gives a massive improvement to farming, for those who prefer to lie back.
The Aether, Tropicraft, Twilight Forest, and The Betweenlands all give much more exploration for players, each with enough to be considered a different game rather than expansions.
