Valestia RPG
A quest-led fantasy RPG modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric.
Begin in Starfall, a floating town connected to three ancient Overworld temples: Ember Crown, Frostbound Citadel, and Stormspire Temple. Explore their branching halls, earn your personal guardian essences, and forge a soulbound Sanctum Key to reach the Crown Sanctum.
Valestia RPG was previously called Echoes of the Aether. This is the same project under a new name; older releases retain their original names. Back up existing worlds before updating.
Your adventure
- A home above the clouds. Return to Starfall between expeditions, visit its merchants, and explore the guardian temples.
- A guided RPG journey. The expanded FTB Quests book contains 24 chapters and 141 quests, with tutorials and goals for the custom adventure and companion mods. A Patchouli Field Guide explains the pack's systems.
- The Crown Sanctum and Endless Spire. Trade in the Sanctum Market and climb the Spire. Leaving preserves your floor checkpoint; you can choose to restart, while death resets the run. The Spire currently supports one active entrant at a time.
- Realm Rifts you can find. Rift announcements include directions and coordinates. Nearby violet beams and on-screen hints help you locate them; use /rift to find the nearest active rift. Encounters remain optional until approached.
- An expanded Overworld. When Dungeons Arise, YUNG's Better Dungeons, Dungeons and Taverns, Bosses of Mass Destruction, and Alex's Mobs add places and creatures to discover. Wildlife balancing reduces competition with vanilla farm animals in shared biomes.
- Combat and character progression. Skillbound progression, Better Combat, Simply Swords, Minecraft Dungeons equipment and artifacts, Wizards, Paladins & Priests, and Spell Engine broaden your choices.
- Storage and everyday comforts. Tom's Simple Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks, per-player Lootr chests, inventory sorting, EMI, Jade, Xaero's maps, Waystones, FTB Ultimine, Experience Bottler, zoom, and an inventory trash button support your adventures.
- A custom presentation. Valestia's interface, hotbar, menus, and death screen accompany the adventure. Shader support and a shader pack are included; enabling shaders is optional.
Getting started
Install the complete modpack through the CurseForge app. You do not need to install the standalone Valestia mod separately. Use Minecraft 1.20.1, Fabric, and Java 17. A starting allocation of 6 GB RAM is suggested; adjust for your computer and shaders.
A new world is recommended for the intended starter experience and newly added structures. Open FTB Quests from the inventory sidebar and follow the first chapter. The three guardian temples are connected to the floating town; no elemental compass is required.
For multiplayer, every player needs a matching client pack. The server alone cannot install the required mods on joining players.
Beta notes
This is a public beta. Back up worlds before updating. Version 1.0.3-beta.2 passed 25 automated game tests; continued multiplayer, visual, and balance testing is welcome. Existing animals and previously generated structures are not automatically replaced by the update.
The trash button permanently deletes the item stack held on your cursor. In the Spire, unfinished encounters restart when you return; collect chest rewards before leaving.
A note from the creator
This is my first time making a project like this, and I'd love to hear what you think. If something feels clunky, confusing, too easy, or too difficult—or if loot and drop rates could use adjusting—please let me know. Bug reports, suggestions, and feedback of any kind are appreciated. Thanks for giving Valestia RPG a try!
