Unknown Cosmos is an RPG-focused adventure pack built around a custom class & skill-tree progression system, layered on top of a large magic/tech/exploration mod set (~180 mods).
Class system (the core of the pack):
- Right-click a Class Selection Table to pick a base class: Warrior, Mage, Rogue, or Cleric.
- Each base class branches into 4 advanced specializations at higher levels — e.g. Warrior → Titan, Berserker, Bulwark, or Juggernaut; Mage → Archmage, Sage, Timeweaver, or Wellspring; Rogue → Phantom, Executioner, Trickster, or Wraith; Cleric → Radiant, Prophet, Martyr, or Guardian. Each specialization has its own relic item, passive bonuses, and active ability (bound to a keybind).
- 3 hidden classes (Pharaoh, Gambler, Lone Ranger) aren't chosen from the table — you unlock them by completing a specific in-world challenge that drops a relic; picking it up switches you into that class.
- Made a wrong choice? An Apple of Forgetting resets your class so you can respec.
- New tiered gear line: Manadium ore/ingots/tools/armor/weapons, plus utility items like Smoke Bombs.
Leveling that actually matters everywhere:
- Built on Project MMO (PMMO), with custom XP/requirement data written for items and blocks across ~75 of the pack's other mods (Create, Botania, Ars Nouveau, Iron's Spellbooks, Cataclysm, Bloodmagic, Occultism, Minecolonies, Alex's Caves, and more), so skill levels gate and reward content pack-wide, not just vanilla Minecraft.
Everything else in the pack:
- Magic: Ars Nouveau, Iron's Spellbooks, Occultism, Eidolon, Hexerei, Forbidden Arcanus
- Tech: Create, Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, Industrial Foregoing, Powah
- Bosses & combat: Cataclysm, Apotheosis, Epic Fight, DungeonsArise, Gateways to Eternity
- Exploration & world: Terralith worldgen, Waystones, Explorer's Compass, Origins (choose a species with unique powers)
- Building & colonies: Minecolonies
- Accessories: Curios-based trinkets — Artifacts, Relics, Baubley Heart Canisters
- QoL/performance: JEI, Jade, ModernFix, FerriteCore, Not Enough Recipe Book
Recommended for players who enjoy RPG-style progression on top of a full survival/magic/tech experience
