Forgotten Age is the official public release of TussleCraft - evolved from Ancient Apocalypse, a private modpack originally built for our YouTube livestreams. If you watched those streams, you already know what you're getting into. If you didn't: buckle up.
This is a hard modpack. Not artificially hard - no one-shot mechanics or cheap deaths — but the kind of hard where the world genuinely does not care about you. Even experienced players will need to think before they act.
Combat is overhauled from the ground up. Better Combat adds directional attacks and proper weapon movesets, Simply Swords expands your arsenal with new weapon types, and L_Ender's Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs, and Born in Chaos brings some of the most brutal boss encounters in any modpack. Meanwhile Champions turns regular mobs into elite threats with randomized affixes - that zombie you ignored? It's surrounded by a cloud of poison now.
The world itself fights back too. Enhanced AI and Zombie Awareness mean enemies are smarter and more aggressive. Nyf's Spiders makes spiders difficult to avoid. Harder Natural Healing means you can't just sit in a corner and eat food - resources matter.
There is a lot to find out there. The full YUNG's suite overhauls every vanilla structure, and that's before you get into When Dungeons Arise: Seven Seas, Dungeon Crawl, Integrated Dungeons and Structures, Structory, and Luki's structure packs covering everything from Ancient Cities to Grand Capitals.
The Twilight Forest is in - if you're brave enough. Beyond the overworld, the Amplified Nether and Nullscape End make both dimensions feel like actual places worth exploring rather than afterthoughts.
Terralith and [Let's Do] BloomingNature handle overworld terrain, turning the world into something genuinely beautiful and worth exploring. Ecliptic Seasons adds a full seasonal cycle - not just visual, it actually affects the world. Combined with Snow! Real Magic! and Particle Rain, the atmosphere is hard to beat.
Tech is intentionally limited - this isn't a tech-first pack. Create is in, with a curated selection of addons (Enchantment Industry, Steam 'n' Rails, Integrated Farming, and more), giving you meaningful automation without overwhelming the survival experience. Refined Storage and Sophisticated Storage round out your storage solutions once you're ready for them.
Survival has real weight here. Cold Sweat adds temperature - dress for the biome or pay for it. Thirst Was Taken means water is a resource. Spice of Life encourages a diverse diet. Farmer's Delight and a stack of food addons make cooking actually worthwhile rather than a chore.
For builders, the pack is stacked. Macaw's covers doors, windows, roofs, fences, lights, and furniture. The Let's Do series adds Vinery, Hearth & Timber, and more. Chipped, Rechiseled, and Supplementaries give you serious block variety and decoration options. The world is your oyster or whatever they say.
Alex's Mobs, Critters and Companions, Ecologics, and Re:Animal fill the world with creatures that actually feel like they belong there. The world isn't just dangerous - it's alive.
A public server is launching alongside the modpack - and we'll be livestreaming it, meaning you can jump in and play alongside us in real time. The server comes pre-added to the pack, so there's no setup needed on your end.
