Trashlands 0.14.0
What's new
The frontier grows back, the tailings pond is not water, and the pack carries its own tweaks to other mods instead of leaving them in Recompile.
Added
- Welcome covers the household sprawl. Four new quests for what you meet on day one: mounds grow back, so digging one flat is not spending it; leachate looks like water and is not; a tire pile gives rubber only to a Scrap Knife and never grows back; and cardboard piles need no tool at all.
- Blocks Previewer. An outline of where a block will land before you place it.
Changed
- Recompile 0.21.0. The frontier rebuilds too. Rubble piles and tailings heaps grow back the way garbage mounds do, one block falling from the sky at a time. Rubble piles sit on Rubble Ground now, the way mounds sit on Mound Ground. The radioactive dump never cleans up, and that is its trade: green the land and the pile retires, but stained ground will not take grass. New worlds only - a yard or dump you have already been to stays as finite as it was.
- The pond on a tailings heap is its own liquid now. Same pale turquoise, but it was never water: it will not fill a Rain Collector or water a crop, and standing in it makes you hungry and poisons you, down to half a heart and no further. Bucket it to drain a pond for good. Also new worlds only.
- Every freight rung is an advancement, and a finished phase is announced to the whole server. Buttons on the terminals make a sound, long lists show which way they scroll, the Buy Terminal opens on the first freight rung, and hovering an Animal Bait tells you which animals the land around it is drawing.
- The pack ships its own tweaks to other mods now, instead of Recompile carrying them: AE2's Inscriber presses in the sewer's sump crate and the tooltip that tells you so, Ender IO's SAG Mill refusing to grind blaze rods back into powder, and the scrap-built Simple Magnets recipes. In play one thing changes: Grains of Infinity come on top of a Mechanical Waste pull now, rather than instead of one, at the same rate of about one pull in twelve.
- Default Options turns the pack's resource pack on, including once for an existing install. It shipped in 0.13.0 but did nothing. The resource pack matters more than it did: it now carries AE2's corrected tooltip, the one that stops sending you after meteorites.
- The quest book calls it the Teardown Workbench, which is what the game has called it since Recompile 0.10.0.
- FTB Ultimine leaves Rubble Ground alone, as it already does Mound Ground.
- Routine bumps: Balm, JEI, Jade, Sophisticated Core and Sophisticated Backpacks. The NeoForge pin stayed at 26.1.2.100.
- Held back on purpose: Extreme Sound Muffler (the newest file is still a 4.x alpha), KubeJS 8.0.6 (not yet launched on a client), and Flatts's Things 0.5.0 (its new grass slabs spread onto dirt, in a world where grass not spreading is the whole reclamation ladder).
- Still true from 0.13.0: a few quest lines mention Idea Fragments and learning a recipe by tearing something down. Teardown no longer teaches; every Blueprint is bought. Ignore those lines until the book catches up.
