To The Nitty Gritty is a modpack striving to be about as vanilla plus as the concept of world-invading, nightmare-inducing parasites can get.

Progression has been balanced in a manner where, if you want to become an unstoppable beast, you will have to kill parasites; hiding inside of an obsidian bunker will only work for so long.

But, SRP is WAY too demanding and unforgiving of a mod for this to be the case, as those familiar with SRP know. Therefore, the mod has been nerfed in a way that still renders vanilla gear somewhat ineffective while allowing high-tier armor to greatly benefit you. Now of course, this does not mean you are able to wage a one-person army against the hordes and come out on top, but it is significantly less unforgiving.
