The Long Journey

The Long Journey is a 220+ mod kitchen-sink pack for NeoForge 1.21.1, aimed at players who already know Minecraft and want some depth without a modpack holding their hand the whole way. You can sink your time into automation, magic, exploration, or all three at once. Nothing forces you down a single path, and the quest book is there when you want direction rather than as a leash.

Tech & Automation

Automation is the heart of the pack. Create covers the mechanical, contraption-building side, while Applied Energistics 2 and its addons handle digital storage and autocrafting once your item count gets out of hand. Mekanism and Powah take care of ore processing and power, and if you make it that far, Draconic Evolution and Just Dire Things go well past anything you strictly need.

Magic & Combat

Two magic systems to pick from, or mix. Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks leans toward a classic spellcaster build, and Ars Nouveau lets you design and automate your own spells. On the combat side, Apotheosis turns loot and enchanting into a proper RPG grind, and the bosses from L'Ender's Cataclysm and Mowzie's Mobs are worth gearing up for before you go looking for them.

Exploration

There's plenty to stumble onto. When Dungeons Arise adds handcrafted structures across the map, YUNG's mods rework caves, mineshafts, and Nether fortresses into places actually worth digging through, and Explorify fills in the rest. Between the Overworld, Nether, and End, you'll keep finding new things to loot.

Performance

Sodium, Iris, Lithium, FerriteCore, and ModernFix are all included, so even at 220+ mods it holds up on mid-range hardware. Give it somewhere around 8–10 GB of RAM and you'll be comfortable.

Multiplayer

Server-ready out of the box. A dedicated server pack comes alongside the client download.
