The Wild West Modpack brings the frontier to Minecraft without losing what makes Minecraft feel like Minecraft.

Explore a world of vast plains, dense forests, mountains, deserts and snowy peaks while building your own frontier settlement. The modpack keeps the familiar Minecraft experience at its core, but expands it with the tools, technology and dangers of the American frontier.

At the heart of the experience are Create and MineColonies. Use Create to build mechanical workshops, automated production lines, trains and increasingly complex machinery, while MineColonies lets you establish and manage your own growing frontier town. Start with a handful of settlers and a few wooden buildings, then develop your settlement into a thriving town complete with farms, mines, workshops and defenses.

But the frontier is not always peaceful.

Take up a revolver and defend yourself against outlaws and hostile creatures. Travel across the wilderness on improved horses, carry supplies across long distances and use sticks of dynamite when mining, clearing land or getting yourself into trouble. New weapons and equipment add a distinctly Western feel while still fitting naturally into Minecraft's existing gameplay.
