The Long Road - A Little Longer

The Long Road is a spiritual successor to my earlier packs - a hard survival built around Create: Aeronautics with a focus on exploring a very dynamic and living world that players will WANT to explore. built to be far more stable.

The Long Road: A Little Longer

The Long Road is the spiritual successor to Kosmosschrott Aeronautik. It starts the same, where you start with nothing, you're cold, you're hungry, and you claw your way up from a two-by-two hole in a cave wall before anything, but as you progress, you will find yourself tinkering in automation, flight, magic; you could see yourself become a lord over a vast kingdom of villages that grow over time, truly, anything becomes possible. The purpose of TLR is to keep the original survival grind to 'great things' roadmap, but what it does differently is gives you a much bigger, much more alive world to not only survive in, but to be motivated to explore and conquer.

What's new this time around?
Kosmosschrott Aeronautik, was a tight, focused Create/Aeronautics box. TLR still has that box at its center, but that small box has now been dropped into a vast sea of content. Terralith and Tectonic completely rework the Overworld's terrain with actual mountains, canyons, hills and valleys, while streams reflowing creates beautiful realistic, watertables. On top of that, we have a managerie of biome mods to keep the world diverse and beautiful, all while Distant Horizons lets you actually see it, rendering the landscape out.

We also have a large array of structures so that you'll never know what you'll run into next, rather than the typical experience of finding the same 10-12 copy-and-pasted.

On top of both of those, we have included now many more mods focusing on the living world itself, such as Ecliptic Seasons, that will have the world actually interacting with how you play the game, but I won't spoil too much in this regard as its best to see for yourself what the world has to offer.

I've also leaned a little further into fantasy than I did last time. It's still grounded, still survival-centered, but there's now a bit of magic and mystery around the edges such as Iron's Spells and Hexerei, however engineering is still at the heart of the pack, as it includes create, aeronautics, and many. many. many. addons.

Stability
TLR is just far more stable than KosmosAero ever managed to be. I put a lot more time into actual testing this time, with real multiplayer sessions. I have not played singleplayer myself extensively, but I have recieved positive feedback from singleplayer tests. On top of all of this, I am planning to keep iterating on it rather than letting it sit.
