You will spawn on a tiny island with a very small tree and 2 chickens. Build out the island into the waters and create your base.
The mods required are meant to enhance the player experience and make it harder and more challenging

If you are having trouble figuring out how to start off you need flint, then you need to break that flint on stone using right click. Craft a knife and cut leaves.
You should be able to figure it out from there.
