βοΈβ¨ The Industrial Revolution 2: Wizard Boogaloo
"A silly RPG Magic n' Tech modpack curated by Aeyori"
π What Is This Modpack?
The Industrial Revolution 2: Wizard Boogaloo is a hand-curated, exploration-first RPG modpack built on NeoForge 1.21.1 that transforms vanilla Minecraft into a living, breathing fantasy world — without losing the soul of the base game. The premise is simple: industry and magic are equally valid paths, and the best playthroughs use both.
Every mod was chosen deliberately. Nothing here feels out of place, and everything builds on top of Minecraft rather than replacing it. Whether you want to master multiple schools of magic, build sprawling kinetic contraptions, dive deep into mythical dungeons, grow magical crops, pick up a chest and carry it across your base, or simply wander a world teeming with wildlife and wonder — this pack gives you the tools and the world to do all of it, at your own pace, on your own terms.
πΊοΈ A World Worth Exploring
The overworld is completely transformed from the ground up. Biomes O' Plenty, William Wyther's Overhauled Overworld, and Terralith work in concert — every biome you walk into has distinct terrain, vegetation, and atmosphere. Lavender fields give way to dramatic cliffsides, ancient forests open into crystalline cave systems, and river valleys hide villages you've never seen before. Distant Horizons renders the world at extreme distances using Level of Detail technology, so mountain ranges and distant structures are visible on the horizon — the world feels genuinely vast.
The Nether has been meaningfully expanded with Eternal Nether adding new structures, mobs, and adventures, while YUNG's Better Nether Fortresses completely rebuilds the vanilla fortress layout from scratch — larger, more complex, and genuinely rewarding to navigate. Moog's Nether Structures fills the space between with handcrafted points of interest and dangerous loot rooms.
The End is transformed by BetterEnd NeoForge into a hauntingly beautiful dimension with 24+ unique biomes, 6 new creatures, deep cave systems, 9 new wood types, and entirely new materials. BetterEnd Cities rebuilds End Cities using BetterEnd's own blocks so they feel native to this new version of the dimension. Moog's End Structures adds handcrafted exploration targets throughout, and YUNG's Better End Island rebuilds the main End island and its surroundings from the ground up.
π³οΈ Underground — A World Beneath the World
The underground is as rich as the surface. Eight cave mods cover completely distinct niches so every descent feels different:
- YUNG's Better Caves overhauls cave generation shapes with lava caverns, underground lakes, and river systems
- YUNG's Cave Biomes adds unique cave biome environments with distinct flora and atmosphere
- Alex's Caves hides six extremely rare themed cave biomes — Magnetic Caves, Primordial Caves, Toxic Caves, Abyssal Chasm, Forlorn Hollows, and Candy Cavity — each with unique mobs, mechanics, and resources discoverable through a Cave Compendium system
- Galosphere adds Crystal Canyons and Pink Salt Caves with Silver and Allurite resources
- Caverns & Chasms brings new ores, foliage, and unique mobs including Deepers and Copper Golems
- Darker Depths adds three massive cave biomes: the Glowshroom Forest, Sandy Catacombs haunted by Void Souls, and the Molten Cavern with rare Forsaken Bronze for powerful weapon crafting
- Kobolds! seeds the underground with Kobold creatures and their tunnel networks
- Deeper and Darker expands the Deep Dark into a proper explorable late-game zone with Sculk-themed bosses and structures
π° Dungeons, Bosses & Structures
There is always somewhere new to find. Over a dozen structure and dungeon mods populate every corner of every dimension, managed by Structurify to prevent overlap and ensure discovery feels earned.
When Dungeons Arise drops colosseums, palaces, airships, and underground complexes into the landscape — visible from a distance and rewarding to navigate. Its Seven Seas expansion adds naval structures and ocean-going adventures. IDA and IDAS further enrich the dungeon ecosystem with additional structures and loot layers.
L_Ender's Cataclysm provides the pack's most brutal endgame challenges — mythical multi-phase bosses with custom animations, armor-shattering mechanics, and cutscenes via Cinematic Cataclysm. Cataclysm Fortresses adds dimension-spanning fortress structures and Cataclysm Rise extends the endgame storyline. Bosses of Mass Destruction adds arcane boss arenas housing the Lich, Gauntlet, and Void Blossom.
Block Factory's Bosses seeds unique boss encounters throughout existing structures. Mowzie's Mobs hides powerful fantasy enemies — the Ferrous Wroughtnaut, the ice giant Frostmaw, and others — across the overworld in their own hidden structures.
The full YUNG's Better Mods suite rebuilds every vanilla structure from scratch: dungeons, strongholds, mineshafts, ocean monuments, jungle temples, desert temples, witch huts, and extras. Moog's Soaring Structures, Moog's Bountiful Structures, and Moog's Voyager Structures fill the sky and overworld with additional handcrafted points of interest. Trek seeds 150+ context-aware structures into biomes including those from Biomes O' Plenty, and Explorify adds vanilla-style points of interest that feel like they were always there.
Loot Integrations ties everything together — injecting appropriate loot from your magic, gear, and farming mods into dungeons across all structure mods so every chest feels relevant to your current progression.
Villages are no longer forgettable clusters of huts. Towns and Towers adds outposts, watchtowers, and ships between settlements. Integrated Villages weaves Create contraptions, traps, and puzzles directly into village buildings. Multi Village Selector manages weighted spawning across village mods so every settlement looks and feels distinct.
βοΈ Combat & Character Progression
Combat feels completely different here. Better Combat brings weapon-specific attack animations and combo systems. Simply Swords adds 15+ distinct weapon classes — rapiers, twinblades, glaives, scythes, halberds, chakrams, claymores, and more — each with unique attack speeds, reach, and combat niches. No two players fight the same way. Integrated Simply Swords bridges the weapon system into the wider mod ecosystem for deeper compatibility.
Your character grows through interconnected systems:
Project MMO levels your skills organically through what you actually do — mine to improve mining, fight to improve combat, farm to improve farming. PMMO Classes adds class archetypes, PMMO Skill Books lets you find skill experience in the world, and dedicated compat modules connect PMMO to Farmer's Delight and Iron's Spellbooks so every activity in the pack feeds your progression.
Keystone, powered by Pufferfish Skills, gives you a point-allocation skill tree where you click nodes to invest points and plan your route through a web of connected skills. The tree covers passive stat boosts, unique ability modifiers, and class-defining choices — invest in a path toward arcane mastery or double down on industrial efficiency. Points are earned through play and can be respecced, so your build evolves as your playstyle does.
Gear is driven by exploration and chance, not grinding one optimal set. Silent Gear lets you craft weapons and armor from any material in the pack — different materials produce genuinely different stat profiles. Apotheosis (with its full module suite: ApothicCombat, ApothicEnchanting, ApothicSpawners, ApothicAttributes) rolls random affixes on every piece of gear. Artifacts and Relics add unique wearable items found only through exploration, each with mechanics no other item replicates. Artifacts Crafting lets you intentionally pursue specific builds once you know what you want.
Carry On lets you pick up and carry chests, machines, and even mobs by sneaking and interacting — making base building, rearranging, and livestock wrangling far less painful.
β¨ Magic
Magic is a layered, multi-system experience — and this is the Wizard Boogaloo, so it's taken seriously.
Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks is the core — an RPG-style magic system where you discover spellbooks through dungeon exploration and grow your mana pool through combat. Spell schools include Ice, Fire, Lightning, Blood, Evocation, Ender, Nature, Eldritch, and more. Monster Spellbooks seeds enemy mobs with spellbooks so the world's creatures cast back. Galosphere Spellbooks integrates underground resources into the spell school progression. Wind Spellbooks adds an entirely new wind-based spell school. Better Spellcasting refines the casting experience with improved mechanics.
Ars Nouveau adds a completely different magical dimension: instead of finding spells, you craft them by combining glyphs. Design a Projectile that Slows then Ignites on hit, or a Touch spell that summons a Whirlwind on impact. Both magic systems share a unified mana pool via Ars 'n' Spells so your progression feeds one cohesive resource, not two competing bars.
Apotheosis transforms the enchanting system entirely with gem socketing and powerful affix rolls on gear. The Iron's Apothic bridge makes those affixes spell-school-aware — your chestplate might roll "Cast Fireball on melee hit" or "+2 Ice Spell Level." Darker Magic and the Create Runic Tablet expand the arcane toolkit further, while Create x Ars Nouveau Compat and Create x Iron's Spell Recipes mean your machines and your magic share crafting recipes. The industrial revolution has a wizard problem and that's a feature.
Ars Delight bridges magic and cooking — Ars Nouveau ingredients become food components, and magical cooking stations open up as you progress the spell system.
βοΈ Technology
The industrial side is built around three mods that cover genuinely distinct niches:
Create handles kinetic, mechanical automation — conveyor belts, mechanical presses, mixers, rotating shafts, and contraptions that physically move through the world. Building a Create factory feels like engineering a puzzle with moving parts. Sophisticated Building gives you precision placement tools to construct those factories efficiently. Visual Workbench lets you see items actively placed in crafting tables so busy workstations are visually readable at a glance.
Oritech handles FE/RF-powered industrial processing — multiblock machines, advanced ore processing, and high-tier manufacturing. Create Oritech Compat bridges shared recipes between kinetic and electric systems naturally.
Applied Energistics 2 ties it all together with a digital storage network. Once your ME Drives are running, your entire inventory lives in one searchable terminal — no more chest rooms. Applied Create and Create: AE Generator unify the power economies of all three tech mods. Create Stock Bridge routes items automatically between Create logistics and AE2 storage.
Storage Drawers and Sophisticated Backpacks complement AE2 for bulk and mobile inventory management. Mystical Agriculture, Mystical Agradditions, and Mystical Automation add a seed-based magical resource farming system where you grow ores, mob drops, and magical materials — automatable through Create and Oritech once your production lines are running. Pylons and More Pylons add pillar-based area utility structures that complement both tech and magic systems.
πΏ A Living World
The world isn't just structures and dungeons — it's alive. Naturalist populates forests with deer, bears protecting cubs, fireflies, and butterflies emerging from chrysalises. WilderNature adds tameable and untameable wildlife across every biome. Hybrid Aquatic fills rivers, oceans, and underwater caves with new aquatic creatures. Ribbits expands the frog ecosystem. Horseman improves horses. Fangs and Claws adds more aggressive creature behaviors to hostile mobs. Trial Guardians breathe new life into Trial Chambers.
Feeding Trough adds a block that automatically feeds and breeds nearby animals — point it at a pen with the right food and let your farm run itself. Especially powerful once Mystical Agriculture is providing magical crops to fill the troughs.
Mobs of Mythology and Myths and Legends bring legendary and folklore creatures into your biomes naturally, giving the world a mythic atmosphere that fits the tone.
Spawn Animations gives every mob a unique emergence animation. Presence Footsteps makes every surface sound distinct — stone corridors, forest undergrowth, sand dunes. Lambda Dynamic Lights makes held torches and glowing items illuminate the world dynamically. Iris shader support means the whole world can be experienced at its visual best.
The world also feels physical. Particle Rain transforms weather into a visual event. Windy sways grass and leaves. Fancy World Animations makes lanterns swing, doors creak, and levers click. A Good Place adds satisfying particles to block placement. Subtle Effects and Effectual add visual flair to status triggers. Punchy! adds immersive first-person hand animations.
π² Food, Farming & Brewing
Survival has real depth. Farmer's Delight is the foundation — new crops, cutting boards, skillets, cooking pots, and a wide recipe library. AppleSkin shows you exactly how much hunger and saturation each food restores before you eat it. A full suite of addons covers every direction: More Delight, Extra Delight, Farmer's Delight Extended, Farmer's Sandwiches, Veggies Delight, and Roll Delight for savory, sweet, vegetarian, and portable options. Ocean's Delight turns Hybrid Aquatic's fish into seafood dishes. Nether's Delight makes Nether ingredients into food. Mystical Delight and Ars Delight connect Mystical Agriculture and Ars Nouveau into the kitchen.
Let's Do: Farm & Charm, Let's Do: Bakery, Let's Do: Brewery, Let's Do: Herbal Brews, and Let's Do: Vinery tie into WilderNature's ingredient ecosystem. Animals and plants you encounter while exploring become ingredients in a full culinary and brewing progression — bake bread, brew wine, ferment herbal concoctions.
𧱠Building & Quality of Life
Quark and Supplementaries expand the building vocabulary with dozens of blocks and mechanics that feel vanilla. Block Variants adds variants for common blocks with a dedicated BOP extension. Dye Depot and Dye the World expand color options. Cubes Without Borders, Underlay, and Trowel add precise and organic placement tools — Trowel places random blocks from a configured pool for quick natural terrain work. Forgematica provides full schematic hologram building. Visual Workbench makes active crafting stations visually readable in the world. Carry On lets you pick up and relocate any tile entity or mob with a sneak-click.
Right Click Harvest makes crop harvesting effortless. Feeding Trough automates animal breeding. Nature's Compass finds biomes. Waystones Teleport Pets brings your animals along when you fast travel. Panda's Falling Trees makes felling trees feel satisfying with animated collapses.
Jade and JEI give you instant block/entity information and a full recipe browser. Advanced Loot Info and Simply Tooltips add detailed stat previews to items. Xaero's Minimap, Xaero's World Map, and XaeroPlus provide a full map system with Waystones shown automatically as you discover them.
π¦ Inventory & Storage
Sophisticated Backpacks gives tiered backpacks with filter slots, auto-pickup, and upgrade modules. Storage Drawers handles high-volume single-item bulk storage feeding into AE2. Sophisticated Building extends smart placement into your build workflow. Carry On eliminates the need to break and replace storage furniture when rearranging your base.
