🌌 The Honored Instance (1.21.1)

The Honored Instance is a performance-focused modpack built for the "forgotten" hardware. While other "optimized" packs are tested on modern mid-range PCs, this pack was built and stress-tested on a 2012 HP 650 Laptop powered by an Intel i3-2328M (2 Cores), Intel HD 3000 Graphics, and a standard HDD. If I can get a stable 60 FPS on this machine, your laptop can likely run it too.

🚀 Why this pack?

Most packs throw every "performance" mod they can find into a folder and call it a day. Through extensive testing, I found that over-stacking these mods actually causes CPU overhead and worse performance on low-end systems. This instance is curated with a specific mix of Sodium, Lithium, ModernFix, and MoreCulling, all pre-configured to ensure your CPU focuses on the game, not the background math.

⚙️ The "Secret Sauce" (Recommended Setup)

To get the results I did, you must follow these three steps: 1. The Runtime I highly recommend using GraalVM CE 21 (JDK 21). The JIT (Just-In-Time) compiler in GraalVM handles memory and garbage collection significantly better than standard Java, which is crucial for weak CPUs. 2. RAM Allocation (Very Important) If you have 4GB of total System RAM, do NOT give Minecraft all of it.
  • Linux Users: Allocate 2GB (2048MB).
  • Windows Users: Allocate 1.5GB (1536MB) to prevent the OS from freezing.
3. JVM Arguments Paste these into your launcher settings to optimize Garbage Collection for low-memory environments:

🛠️ Configuration Notes

  • 2-Core CPUs: The pack is pre-set to use 1 Chunk Builder Thread. Do not increase this unless you have at least 4 cores, or you will experience major stuttering.
  • Modifying the Pack: You can add your own mods, but be careful. Adding more "optimization" mods can often conflict with the fine-tuned ModernFix and Sodium configs included here.
