GET READY TO MAKE EVERYTHING 60% BETTER.
The Everything 60% Better Pack is a 1.16.4 port of The Everything 50% Better Pack, which attempts to revitalize core aspects of Minecraft while maintaining the vanilla game progression experience. This means that the fundamental gameplay aspects of building and gathering resources remain rather similar to the core game. We opted not to include technology/magic mods that allow for excessive automation and power generation, because we felt it strayed too far from our progression ideals. However, the modpack rejuvenates nearly every other aspect of the game:
EXPLORATION:
We combined Terraforged, a realistic and gorgeous terrain generator, with mods like YUNG'S Better Caves for a more interesting underground experience and Repurposed Structures for a greater variety of naturally occurring structures like villages and dungeons. Biomes O’ Plenty adds even greater depth to an already beautiful world.
ADVENTURE:
Battle your way through underground labyrinths in the Dungeon Crawl mod, explore the newly threatening depths with Upgrade Aquatic, and gaze upon the world from above with Towers of the Wild. If you die, don’t worry about permanently losing your gear – the Gravestones mod preserves your items within a simple tombstone at the site of your death. Accept quests with the Bountiful mod, which creates quest boards at villages for players to complete and earn rewards. YUNG’s Better Mineshafts makes the extensive cave networks simultaneously more beautiful and more deadly.
TECHNOLOGY:
Vanilla enchantments can get pretty stale after a while, and once elytra are obtained, nearly all other methods of transportation become significantly outclassed. To address the tool issue, we added Tetra, which adds an all-new gear modification system similar to Tinker’s Construct, where users can create a wide variety of customizable weapons and tools from a much larger array of materials. Transportation is solved by the inclusion of Simple Planes, a very lightweight, vanilla-friendly, and easy-to-use aircraft mod. Terraforged terrain is often vast and difficult to traverse, so Simple Planes will be an essential part of the exploration experience. We also introduced the incredible Create mod, allowing players to construct a vast variety of complex machinery that visually does what it's supposed to.
QUALITY OF LIFE:
We’ve included dozens of mods that address minor gameplay issues, from optimizing crafting tables with FastWorkbench to improving light dynamics with Phosphor. Most of these mods simply tweak a minor gameplay aspect, but none of them fundamentally alter gameplay progression, so you can still experience the Minecraft you know and love.
HIGHLY IMPORTANT MODLIST (you should probably learn to use at least a couple of these):
Pam's HarvestCraft 2: Adds a LOT of different food items to the game. You can find them while exploring your world.
Cooking for Blockheads: adds a modular kitchen to the game. Lets you cook with a variety of ingredients and make interesting food combinations. Goes hand-in-hand with Pam's Harvestcraft 2.
Create: Lets you build complex and incredibly cool machines. Just look up a tutorial.
Simple Planes: Adds simple coal-powered planes to your world. You can use them to fly around, as one usually does in planes.
Tetra: Tool upgrade system similar to Tinker's Construct. Craft a hammer, right click a crafting table with it, and get to work. You can try looking up tutorials, but there are no good ones, so trial and error is the way to go. (MOD BROKEN IN THIS UPDATE, WAITING FOR A FIX)
Extra Armor: lets you make armor out of almost anything. Every set has unique properties depending on the material. For example, prismarine gives you water breathing, while obsidian gives you blast protection.
OTHER GAME-CHANGING MODS (mods that make certain aspects of the game deviate significantly from vanilla):
Biomes O' Plenty: adds many new biomes and tree types to your world. All Biomes O' Plenty trees are compatible with Simple Planes.
Doggy Talents: Lets you upgrade your dogs - they'll level up over time, and you can teach them a wide assortment of skills.
Dungeon Crawl: Adds massive dungeon structures to your world. Tower-like structures spawn on the surface - this is the entrance.
GraveStones: When you die, a gravestone block will spawn that contains all of your items. Break the gravestone to get them back. Also, it teleports the items directly into your inventory (while expelling whatever was in your inventory previously that no longer fits), so don't worry if your grave is surrounded by lava.
ReAuth: lets you relog without restarting the whole client.
Repurposed Structures: Adds a far greater variety of structures to the game, like jungle fortresses, nether temples, and end shipwrecks.
Spiders 2.0: Makes spiders climb walls properly. Don't think this is game-changing? Wait and see.
Sword Displays: Adds a little stand where you can put your swords. On display.
TerraForged: Terrain generation revamp that makes it 500 times better. Vast mountain ranges, valleys, rivers, everything just way better.
Towers of the Wild: Big towers that spawn in your world randomly. Climb them and gaze upon the world!
Upgrade Aquatic: Adds a bunch of new types of fish, coral, and aquatic blocks. Adds a trident recipe and a new mob called the "thrasher." Very scary, try not to engage.
Wither Skeleton Tweaks: Revamps wither skeleton spawning and drops to make your day a little less miserable.
YUNG's Better Caves: Reworks cave generations to make them more expansive, interconnected, and interesting to explore. Adds underground lakes and flooded ravines, among other things.
YUNG's Better Mineshafts: Adds regional variations on mineshafts, as well as making them look a lot cooler.
