GAMEPLAY VIDEOS:
(Everything shown in video is from an older version of the modpack with some mods removed and the tickspeed majorly fixed, thanks again Jyn.)
(Update coming soon! This will be update V1.5, and will provide much more scariness to the update, as-well as more infection variety since some were removed in the previous update. The death, and sleeping systems will be fixed/reworked and will provide a much more enjoyable experience. A significant amount of quests will be fixed and many more will be added. Unfortunately I got sick so the update is delayed, but when I'm better the modpack will be updated.)
[THE ESSENTIAL MOD is how you play co-op! Just go in-game and go to the social tab and from there you can friend via Minecraft usernames! Then when in your worlds, you can invite them. The co-op experience has been enhanced to be more enjoyable.]
[If they are not on by default launch, turn on Insanity Shaders! (Unless bad lag is applied.)]
Herobrine himself welcomes you into this modpack, you enter his world, his server, and you will play his games.
This modpack is based around various horror, thriller, infection, and nightmarish mods, all of which will be explained in dear time. This modpack has an emphasis on difficulty, rather than just outright jumpscare horror. The world will not seem so empty and deserted, and instead more like a Lovecraftian nightmare, where you will be watched for every second you breathe.
Useful Information;
1. This modpack is intended for Survival/Hardcore.
2. Use JEI in-game to search for crafting recipes! It is on the right-hand side of most crafting menus with a search-bar.
3. The Witherstorm is entirely optional, but can be activated as soon as the world is created if you choose.
4. To check the full list of credited mods, they are in-game. Select mods in the pause menu, or main menu, most mods there will have their pages linked.
5. You must craft matches to light torches. These can be made with paper, or it can be obtained much more easily through quests.
6. For a more immersive experience, turn off music in Music&Sound Settings!
7. Boss Progression is in no particular order, and can be found through quests or Advancements.
8. If you need to turn your graphical settings down, such as render distance or even your shader settings, or simulation distance, please do so if lag ruins your experience! This modpack is rather heavy on the CPU and Memory aspects of your computer and will strain it on lower-end computers. Things such as render distance being turned down can actually help the experience of the modpack due to the fog! It's recommended that you turn it down lower.
9. It is not recommended to stay inside of structures as a base or place to hide, as Herobrine has been collecting data, he has realized an increasing number of survivors attempting to take refuge in structures or dungeons. This is not a good idea as those places are quite dangerous, and are the opposite of safety.
10. The advised base-building strategy against creepers, is to have thicker walls to obstruct the creepers from breaching inside of your base. Thick bases save lives.
[THE INFORMATION AHEAD IS OPTIONAL. ONLY READ IF YOU WANT SOME MORE FUN INFO!]
THE FOG IS COMING.
Many threats such as Herobrine, and other horrors lurk in the fog.
Infection may be your greatest threat. The Infectious Spore, and the Fearsome Sculk Horde, and the Flesh That Hates all threaten your world with disease and horror.
The world has been ravaged by Pillagers who have become the dominant intelligent force in the land, as they too fight against infection and the approaching fog. Beware their presence as they may not be quite so friendly as their villager counterparts.
Herobrine's reign has changed many creatures. The night and caves now produce the greatest horrors and forces of the fog in which the world has never seen before. The Nether adapted and was nurtured into a thriving horror.
The caves have shifted and changed, awaiting you in the caverns is the Cave Dweller and many more creatures waiting to feast on your grave.
0,0,0 may be the most concentrated area of the fog, located there is the Witherstorm, and below it in the Deep Dark is the Tomb of Sculk.
Hide, barricade, place traps in upcoming updates to the modpack and defend your base against the hordes. Create farms inside of your base and salvage what you can from the wreckage of the world.
The night bleeds, and if you cannot find shelter by nightfall, you will almost certainly be doomed.
Herobrine's reach extends beyond that of the main bosses, he has many vanguard born from his wrath.
[THE SOUL FORGE] Can be found in the Nether, and contains Herobrine's second finest vanguard there; the Netherite Monstrosity, he is a very tough individual, and you will need to prepare considerably before going after him, but the rewards he bears will be grand.
[THE RUINED CITADEL] Can be found in the End, its vanguard; the Ender Guardian will be protecting it at the heart. He himself has his own defenses and army, and taking him on will be quite difficult, so be prepared, but the rewards will be grand.
[THE SUNKEN CITY] Found in the most hidden parts on the top of the ocean, once an abandoned base of players turned into The Leviathan's fortress... The Leviathan had many children which had spread throughout the oceans, which you may encounter on the way to the Sunken City, but the main mother of the Leviathans inside of the Sunken City, and is the toughest of them all, bearing the most grand of rewards.
[THE ANCIENT FACTORY] A still functioning factory from when players ruled the planet, now a testing place for Herobrine's main expirement; The Harbinger. Herobrine created a horror in tampering with Withers on his quest to create a stronger variant of the Witherstorm, the Harbinger is born of hatred and malice, and will be a foe that no surviving player dare stand against. However, it may need a Nether Star to be powered.
[THE BURNING ARENA] The replacement for the Netherite Monstrosity and Herobrine's finest vanguard there; Ignis, and his tower-like arena. To summon him, you must collect his minion's flames and use it in his altar of fire, only then will you face the champion of the Nether.
The caves and night are the most dangerous of all. But do not let that deter you, for the treasures of certain caves can prove to be your greatest resource against the evils.
Herobrine will stalk you at all times of day, toying with you after the first few days of your arrival. He shall watch you for the first three days, and then you may begin to notice... Him.
He has sent a guardian to the caves, the Cave Dweller, Corpse Stalker, and many more into the caverns and tunnels. But they are no guardian to you, rather a guard for Herobrine's many evils that reside in the caves.
Perhaps you will even catch a glimpse of the Blood Moon, said to be cut open by Herobrine himself to bleed onto the world.
The undead will be agitated at all times, and will challenge you with hordes of monsters, and beasts. Even though it may seem that the undead, hordes, and Illagers may be your only enemy, that is unfortunately untrue, for even animals have been warped by Herobrine's influence.
Do not allow the parasites grow, even during the day they will still be your biggest threat. But you can use this to your advantage; the hordes do not like any lifeform that is not themselves, turning your enemies into temporary allies.
(Sleep Tight Mod): You may also realize that sleeping at night may be difficult, however, there is a solution! Try your best to craft the Night Bag, and you can sleep wherever, whenever! Enjoy sleeping in the sun with hammocks, allowing you to sleep in the day. Sleeping eight times in the same placed regular bed will mark it as your home bed, and make sure you still consistently sleep in your home bed for special bonuses for when you wake up! And if for whatever reason, you see bed bugs, DESTROY THEM! They will infest your bed and will make it to where you cannot sleep in it anymore. Protect your bed at all costs! And if you happen to be a serial-sleeper, be careful, the more nights you consecutively sleep, the more risk you gain to get a nightmare at night.
Long before the world had a name...
Herobrine, the first player, the first hacker, the first whatever you want to call him at this point. With his origins relatively unknown he remains the scourge of the worlds he has taken hold of.
All that you know is that he is an entity of destruction rather than creation, being some sort of evil demon rather than a peaceful deity.
You will find remnants of the players he himself has ridden of across the world, leading to what was left of the Illager society to rapidly grow with how open they were to pillaging the now empty cities and fortresses.
Villagers and villages that had almost fallen along with players have risen back up, stronger than ever before. Villagers will certainly be more willing to fight alongside you after seeing what Herobrine's hordes have done to their fallen comrades. The infection is their greatest weakness, for it will tear through their society from the inside out.
Herobrine's vanguard were created as generals to his vast hordes of mobs. The vanguard each lead their respective biomes or dimensions, and will do anything to protect it against you, even if it takes their lives.
The Sculk was the last defense Herobrine would use to completely consume a world if it ever grew too unruly for him to control. Unfortunately for him, his control over the Deep Dark waned as time went on, and he has unknowingly lost all control he had down there.
The many infections are mainly a result of Herobrine's general hatred for life outside of his control, as he pushes to possess all lifeforms that try to break free from him.
The caves and Nether only prospered in chaos, creating entire eco-systems which were not there before. Some even growing outside of evil's control and becoming their own miniature worlds.
What is known is that you must stop his vanguard and hordes from spreading evil across the land. Or not, and just hide away in your little cave behind a dirt wall.
