The Arctic Frontiers

The Arctic Frontiers (or TAF for short) is about getting through a harder early game to get your heating. The entire world is covered in snow and the only way to escape is the other dimensions. TAF is made to show how a winter wonderland isn't so wonderous once you realize just how cold it would be.

Luckily there are many ways to heat your homestead and once you get settled, it's really not so bad. Cold Sweat offers many ways to heat up your settlement and your very own armour so once you get through the early game, it does get easier.

TAF features a lot of things typically seen in more hardcore modpacks such as torches needing to be lit, wood and stone tools being removed. In TAF there are instead flint tools. (Crafted with flint tool heads and a stick.) All these recipes show up in JEI but as a general tiny guide on how to start:

Break leaves, get sticks, break gravel, get flint. (Or make flint with stick and gravel.) Make tool heads and proceed. Make a campfire, get clay and cook it to make a furnace. Remember you must light your campfires and furnaces aswell as fuel them.
