Technomagical Apocalypse

Magic, technology, and a world in ruin.

The sky split, violet light shone through the clouds, and an unearthly roar pierced the world.

A great shadow passed over the land, leaving destruction in its wake.

Technology as we knew it failed. In its place, strange new powers sprung forth overnight.

The people changed. Some became monsters: horribly mutated creatures, zombies and other undead. Others became shadows of their former selves.

No one would be the same. 

The people and animals began changing, becoming something more, something not quite human. Dwarves, Elves, creatures from Fairy Tales and folklore have emerged in the world once more. 

In time, new technology emerged, magics evolved. And some unlucky few remained unaltered, survivors of the beginning and the end.

 

Play in this post-apocalyptic landscape: vast biomes and cities in ruins. Will you rebuild society from the ashes? Or will you carve your name across the lands as ruler of  your domain? Perhaps you'll be the crazy wizard in the tower, or a mad scientist in a secret lair. Work together or run solo. The world is open for exploration.

This pack combines some of the best of the magical, technological, and world gen enhancements with McJty's "The Lost Cities" mod for a customizable experience. 

With the various QOL mods included, this pack is intended for Hard or higher difficulty with multiplayer / servers in mind. 

 

The 1.18.2 update is here. With the update to Create0.5, we have trains! Origins was also included in the update.

1.19 version is in the works, pending update for certain core mods to 1.19. 

 

This has not been tested with Optifine yet. 

 

Update: 21-07-2022, Version 2.3

  • Removed BYG and When Dungeons Arise: Conflict with The Lost Cities and Lootr caused terrain generation to crash on some machines. Added Prefab.
  • Will be testing a "Lite" version of this modpack soon.
  • Will be testing a Fabric version of this modpack soon.
  • Gameplay / stability greatly increased over previous version. There is a new issue with Origins. Some users reporting the Origins choice is not triggering on first time joining world. As a temporary fix, please use the "Starter Kit" mod included with this pack to give players the "Orb of Origins." This can also be done on a server community area through the Lootr custom chest commands to dispense 1 orb to any player the first time they open a special chest. Please refer to the mod pages for command syntax & information.

Issues:

I've been monitoring issues with this pack. There have been some stability concerns on some machines. 

Recommended settings include at least allocating 8k MB memory local.

Update 21-07-2022: Removed some mods causing a terrain generation error / crash on some seeds. Version 2.3 is more stable. It is recommended the "Lost Cities" settings to use "rare" or customized rare to allow adequate space in the overworld for other terrain-altering mods to function properly.
