Be ready for a very good grind this is my take on Gregtech, like a cover different in every way but the beats sound familiar. Along with needing to spice up your life with different foods, the water here is dirty but it'll do. A little bit of a chill, maybe the fire can calm your quills.
Tech Quest is heavily technology based, it focuses on a Industrial Craft 2, Forestry, Foundry, and Water Strainer. There are some other mods for utility and effect game play such as Spice of Life, Realistic Torches, Survivalist, and Tough as Nails
Industrial Craft 2 adds in industrial machines, this mod has been made to be more end game you wont see your first generator for minecraft weeks. That first generator that used to be just 13 iron is... Still just 13 iron... But how is it so late game, well foundry in the center of the mod pack has taken over the ability to smelt ingots in that gray thing called a furnace. You can't make ingots like that the metal would just drip out, luckily it still works for cooking it even looks like an oven. Now you cant smelt your ingots so how do we get iron, simple you melt it, cast it, cool it, in your foundry. But of course its not that simple you have to tend to your needs, keep the thirst and hunger sated. Don't overheat or freeze. The night is looking rather dark too now, it may be unwise to go out in the night. WHATS THIS THE FOUNDRY TAKE METAL TO MAKE BUT HOW CAN I SMELT IF I NEED THE FOUNDRY TO SMELT, well you can just sift the water for copper, nickel and tin nuggets. You can also sift for salt, but you may get some bi products such as dirt. I'm gonna starve what do I do, break grass the vanilla seeds are all added now along with cotton. But you need planks to make the sifters for the metal to make planks, another loop bypassed by an amazing thing called a flint axe and a chopping block. Now we are at the point where you would have spawned collect sticks and rocks off the ground to make axe for the chopping block, you can still punch down trees but you'll only have logs.
Industrial Craft 2, machines, very technologically advanced.
Forestry is a farming mod which adds in tons of different bees for apiaries, trees and a genetic system of breeding bees and trees. you will being seeing this mod in early all the way to late game for many different things, bee farming can start before metallurgy is even discovered. Trees genetics shows up in the mid game and the factory and over all genetics show up in the mid to late game
Foundry is the mod that is your mid game, the more or less metallurgy ages. you can't smelt ingots in that silly little gray thing anymore, the ingots would just melt and get every where. Now there are casts for constructing your tools, weapons, and armor properly. you'll be seeing this mod in the middle of the game.
