A more difficult, flavorful vanilla MC. Designed for the TDR discord server.
The aim of the modpack is to overhaul the vanilla combat to be more fun and engaging, as well as to take some examples from games like valheim, with additional bosses, larger biomes, and more focus on roguelike experiences.
Food Update
- You no longer need to eat to survive.
- You must eat to be able to sprint (there is a short grace period upon freshly spawning).
- You may eat 3 different foods to increase your health.
- These foods increase your health for a given amount of time. You may not eat more than 3 foods at a time. Once a food has 20% or less time remaining on its counter, it can be replaced. Eating rotten flesh will also allow you to throw up and replace consumed food. More complex foods tend to add more health for longer.
- There are many new cooking recipes and crops added to the game. Some of the more advanced types of foods add different effects upon consumption. This encourages players to make a larger variety of farms and not just eat one type of food.
Mob Update
- There is a generally greater variety of mobs than in vanilla Minecraft, some of which have unique abilities.
- Mobs become more difficult the deeper underground a player is.
- Mobs become more difficult the further from world spawn a player is
- Spiders can now climb vertical surfaces.
- Zombies and zombie variants can detect and aggro onto players from much further away than vanilla Minecraft.
- Zombies and zombie variants are attracted to lights and certain sounds.
- Mobs that can trade with a player now have an icon above their heads.
- Fireflies can spawn in some biomes, and can be caught and placed into jars.
- Various neutral/passive mobs have been added to the game.
- There are more variations of fish, and fishing has been expanded as a mechanic.
Cave Update
- Friendly cave goblins can occasionally appear. These goblins don’t stay long, but offer useful trades.
- Strongholds, dungeons, and abandoned mineshafts are much more interesting and complex.
- Caves now have urns (like terraria/zelda) that hold a variety of loot items.
- Caves (and other dark areas) are now pitch black. Holding torches or light-emitting items in your hand or offhand will help to light the way.
- Caves have a few ultra scary new monsters… they are rare but will MESS UP your day.
- Caves have some subtle additions, such as the addition of cave roots, which the player can eat, and cave dust, which adds to the general atmosphere.
- There are new cave biomes.
- Cave generation has changed slightly to make caves larger and deeper.
- Ore spawning rate is reduced by 90% UNLESS the ore is in a cave or otherwise exposed to the air (this makes strip mines much less useful). Caving is by far the best way to obtain ores but is now more difficult.
Combat Update
- There are new types of weapons and enchantments. Players may now fight with spears, daggers, hammers, clubs, and quarterstaffs.
- There are new shields added. Shields can now parry.
- There are new combat animations. Combat is a bit more intricate and skill based.

- When a player dies, they have a short 2 minute window where another player can revive them by holding right click.
- Spyglasses will now show information about a mob or block when looking at it.
- Spyglasses can be enchanted.
- Precision Enchantment: Placing the spyglass in the offhand and crouching while using a bow or crossbow provides zoom. Arrows gain perfect accuracy and aren't affected by gravity. 3 second cooldown.
- Marking: Pressing the attack keybind while focusing on an entity will mark it for 10 seconds.
- Torch arrows shoot torches.
Terrain Generation
- Added roguelike dungeons, which get more difficult as players descend them. These are marked by aboveground structures.

- Biomes are larger and more realistic.
- The rare and wise mystical oak tree will talk to you.
Non-Overworld Additions
- Added the Undergarden Dimension, which is a terrifying cave dimension which can be accessed by creating a nether portal with stone bricks and lighting it with a catalyst. This dimension has many new armors and ores etc.
- The End must be accessed by using 12 of 16 new unique eyes of ender. These eyes of ender can only be found in the world. End portals will not spawn with eyes of ender in them, so players must find 12 of the 16 new eyes to enter The End.
