Please Note for Shaders

Some players have experienced issues including animation desync and crashes when using shaders with SWEM. It is believed this issue is in part related to Geckolib and Optifine (required) and potentially an as yet unknown factor within SWEM code. Those using shaders will have to elect to do one of the following:

• Avoid using shaders for now - removing shaders decreases the t-posing by around 90%
• Accept that when using shaders some animations will not render properly and rarer crashes are possible.
• Downgrade to a 'functional' version - this means you will have to downgrade your SWEM mod file to use older gecko versions:
  Use SWEM 5.3.0 and Geckolib .97 Make sure to remove any other SWEM or Geckolib files so you do not have duplicates. Downgrading should not significantly impact your gameplay, 5.3.1+ updates have added small non-essential updates at present. When playing on a server you should be able to use 5.3.0 and geckolib .97 even if the server host has the latest 5.3.x and geckolib update.

We will have to review our advice on this when a new major SWEM release is available (5.4.0+) and players who are unwilling to compromise on shader use may need to consider the pros/cons of upgrading if issues persist with newer versions of Geckolib.
