What's new

0.2.3

0.2.2 was never released, so this covers everything since 0.2.1.

Mods

  • Added ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village (with Lithostitched and Rats & Ctov Fix), MmmMmmMmmMmm target dummies, Polymorph (pick which recipe a shared crafting grid makes), Mouse Tweaks, Searchables and Enchantment Descriptions.

  • Arsenal of Weaponry 0.1.2 → 0.2.0:

    • ten new guns (MP5, UMP45, HK416, SCAR-H, M320, AWM, SVD, M249, AA-12, RPG-7) and three new calibres;
    • twenty-two attachments;
    • a shooting range with pop-up, moving and paper targets, run-through courses and a scoreboard;
    • missile defence: Rocket Launcher, Cruise Launcher, Radar Station, Anti-Ballistic Missile and EMP Tower;
    • see-through iron sights and optics, and real finishes on every gun;
    • gun damage that rises with the tier.
  • Arsenal of Vehicles 0.1.5 → 0.1.9:

    • a destroyed vehicle leaves a wreck to recover and repair at the Arsenal Workbench;
    • vehicle armour and penetration, so rifle rounds no longer chip away at a tank;
    • vehicles shove mobs aside instead of stopping dead;
    • only the Warg and the Kelpie catch fire;
    • you can walk the Scylla's decks;
    • explosive and incendiary rounds do 35% less to what they hit directly;
    • a new workbench model and a parts list that scrolls. Other mod updates (released since 0.2.1, from each mod's own changelog)
  • World Bosses 2.0.1 → 2.0.2:

    • The Shadow Weaver no longer stays frozen on his altar after he is summoned, where he could neither fight nor be hurt.
    • A boss knocked into the void is brought back to its shrine.
    • Everyone who fought a boss gets the advancement now: bows, crossbows, tridents, spells and pets all count, and dying or standing too far away when it falls no longer loses it.
    • Storm spirits are much rarer (they used to fill whole islands of the Celestial Heights) and keep away from Worldbreaker portals.
    • New Dried Gloomberries: cook them in a furnace, smoker or campfire for food 1.5 times as filling.
    • The Boss Codex lists the real rewards.
    • New settings can turn off the Shrine Locator Compass and the shrine recipes.
  • Immersive Aircraft 1.6.0 → 1.7.0:

    • Switch seats with Ctrl + 0–9.
    • Passengers sit and face the way they should.
    • The aircraft's health bar no longer clashes with other bars.
  • Naturalist 2.0.5 → 2.0.7:

    • Hippos no longer sink and drown their babies, and they climb out of the water to chase you.
    • Lion cubs sleep properly and keep their heads in a fight.
    • Lion spawn eggs can give males.
    • Caught dragonflies keep their own colours.
  • Double Doors 7.3 → 7.5:

    • Both doors open at the same moment.
    • Modded doors that open their own way are supported.
    • New doorBlockBlacklist setting.
  • JEI 19.64 → 19.69:

    • A new search engine.
    • Search suggestions are drawn above the item list.
    • JEI remembers whether its item list was shown or hidden between launches.
    • Fixes for bookmarks and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Sophisticated Backpacks, Core and Storage (3.26.14, 1.5.17, 1.6.8):

    • The crafting upgrade no longer destroys leftover items when JEI fills in a recipe.
    • Pump upgrades respect land claims on nearby tanks.
    • Looking up nearby storage no longer loads chunks.
    • Fixed slowly growing memory use.
    • A storage barrel's display no longer crashes the game with Sodium.
  • Collective 8.56 → 8.65 (the shared library for Serilum's mods, such as Double Doors):

    • Its new settings screen is finished and no longer slows the game.
    • Checks for nearby blocks no longer load or generate chunks on the server.
    • Respawn anchors no longer lose a charge when a mod checks where you would respawn.
  • Sound Physics Remastered 1.5.1 → 1.5.2: sounds fade with distance the way they used to.

  • Railcraft Reborn 1.2.12 → 1.2.13: signal boxes no longer flicker with shaders, plus a JEI recipe fix.

  • ExtraStorage 5.0.10 → 5.1.0: fixes a server crash (a stack overflow in the server tick).

  • GuideME 21.1.19 → 21.1.20: guide pages with 3D scenes draw faster, plus a fix for Sodium.

  • Easy Villagers 1.1.47 → 1.1.49: creates fewer villager entities behind the scenes, and the auto trader's arrow buttons are redrawn.

  • Trash Cans 1.1.1 → 1.1.2: the trash can screen no longer sometimes takes the wrong number of items.

  • Aquamirae 7.2.12 → 7.2.13: its armour has its proper durability again.

  • Small fixes: Epic Knights 10.17, Puzzles Lib 21.1.65 (a looting bonus fix) and FTB XMod Compat 21.1.13.

Quests

  • Four new chapters:

    Chapter Quests
    Weapon Attachments 24
    Training Range 19
    Missile Defense 9
    Orbital Command 9
  • Field Arsenal has 16 new quests: the new guns, their ammunition, and Supply Routes (where supplies are found).

  • Missile Program: Missile Body 1–3 are now Missile Parts I–III. They ask for a Warhead Casing, a Rocket Motor and a Guidance Unit, which is how missiles are made now.

  • The quests for the five rare gun parts (Focusing Crystals, Capacitors, Voidsteel Frames, Pressure Chambers and Storm Cores) list every chest and boss that gives them.

  • The stage chapters include the new guns:

    • Gold Arsenal takes the MP5 or UMP45.
    • Field Rifles takes the HK416 or SCAR-H, with rifle or 7.62 NATO rounds.
    • Heavy Arsenal takes the AWM, SVD, M249, AA-12 or RPG-7.
  • Quests whose costs changed say what they need now: the capital ships, the Ray Gun and Thunder Gun, the nuclear, antimatter and red matter warheads, and the tier III launcher. Some quests have moved to tidy the layout.

Progression

Arsenal guns, missiles and vehicles now follow the same stages as the quest book. Each stage adds a control part and an alloy, and most of these parts can be made more than one way. JEI shows every option.

Part Made from
Basic controls Electron Tube or Basic Control Circuit
Advanced controls Precision Mechanism or Advanced Control Circuit
Elite controls (new) Elite Control Circuit, Niotic Capacitor or Quantum Processor
Ultimate controls (new) Ultimate Control Circuit, Nitro Capacitor or Quantum Processor
Engineering alloys Brass or Steel
Late alloys (new) Reinforced Alloy, Niotic Crystal or Quantum Alloy Plate
Endgame power (new) Polonium Pellet, Nitro Crystal or Quantum Alloy

Guns (on top of their own parts)

Guns Extra parts
Desert Eagle, A300, Mossberg 590, P90, Vector, MP5, UMP45 Basic controls and 2 engineering alloys
AR-15, AK-47, Remington 700, HK416, SCAR-H, M320 Advanced controls and 4 engineering alloys
Barrett M82, Minigun, AWM, SVD, M249, AA-12, RPG-7 2 elite controls and 4 late alloys
Ray Gun, Thunder Gun 2 ultimate controls and 2 endgame power; the rare salvage is still needed

Missiles and launchers

  • Guidance Units need basic controls. Rocket Motors take engineering alloys instead of iron.

  • Launch pads, screens and frames:

    Tier Controls
    I Basic
    II Advanced
    III Elite
  • Warheads:

    Warheads Extra parts
    Breaching, Contagious, Fragmentation, Sonic, Thermobaric, Anti-Ballistic Advanced controls
    Anti-Gravity, EMP, Ender, Endothermic, Exothermic Elite controls
    Nuclear Ultimate controls, 2 endgame power and 8 uranium ingots
    Antimatter, Red Matter 2 ultimate controls and 4 endgame power
  • Launchers and defences:

    Item Extra parts
    Radar Station Basic controls
    Rocket Launcher, EMP Tower Advanced controls
    Cruise Launcher Elite controls and 2 diamonds
  • The Orbital Strike's parts take late alloys, ultimate controls and endgame power. The uplink takes boss materials instead of its two nether stars.

Vehicles

  • The first land vehicles go up in steps:

    Vehicle Extra parts
    Warg Basic controls
    Behemoth Basic controls and 4 engineering alloys
    Salamander Advanced controls and 4 engineering alloys
  • The Diesel Engine, Tank Cannon and Jet Engine are made only at the Arsenal Workbench now; the crafting-table recipes skipped the gates.

  • The Thunderbird, Hydra, Manticore, Wyvern, Basilisk, Scylla and Charon take elite controls instead of advanced.

  • The Kraken, Leviathan and Tiamat take ultimate controls and endgame power instead of advanced controls, plus boss materials as before.

Immersive Aircraft

Immersive Aircraft is still the early way into the air, before Arsenal's aircraft.

Part Extra parts
Engine, Bomb Bay Basic controls
Rotary Cannon Basic controls and an engineering alloy
Warship Advanced controls

The Gyrodyne needs no engine, so it is still the first thing you can fly.

Loot

  • Arsenal supplies appear in modded structures:
    • field supplies in camps, cabins and bandit towers;
    • engineering supplies with osmium, tin and zinc in mines, foundries, forts and frigates;
    • advanced supplies in citadels, wizard towers and boss vaults.
  • The M1911 and Beretta are rare finds in pillager outposts, dungeons and illager camps. The .44 Magnum, Remington 870 and Marlin are rarer still, in mansions, bastions and the tougher treasure rooms.
  • Tougher mobs from Born in Chaos, Cataclysm, Aquamirae and Block Factory's Bosses drop Arsenal supplies when you kill them, and the elite ones drop better.
  • Each of the five rare gun parts also drops from certain bosses (one per kill, killed by a player) and from more treasure chests. The part's quest lists them.
  • Loot Integrations no longer puts Arsenal guns and rare parts in random chests.

Balance

  • Fast-firing guns do less damage per shot:

    Gun Damage
    Vector ×0.6
    P90, AK-47 ×0.8
    A300, Ray Gun ×0.85
    Thunder Gun ×0.9
    Minigun ×0.35
  • Bosses take 35% of gun damage, and elite mobs 80%.

World

  • ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village adds many new village and pillager outpost styles. Rats' garbage heaps also show up in its mushroom, savanna and snowy villages.

Fixes

  • Recipes that call for oats accept Croptopia's oats, and recipes that call for glass accept any glass block.
  • The Machine Gun Belt takes a string at the crafting table. Before, its recipe was the same as Arsenal of Weaponry's rifle rounds.
