Highlights

Completely Overhauled World Generation

The previous Biomes O’ Plenty-based world-generation setup has been replaced with a more focused collection of terrain and dimension overhauls.

V2.0.0 now uses:

  • Terralith for a dramatically expanded Overworld
  • Tectonic for larger and more natural terrain formations
  • Nullscape for an overhauled End dimension
  • Incendium for an expanded and more dangerous Nether
  • Lithostitched for world-generation compatibility and integration
  • Dungeons and Taverns for additional structures and exploration content

This creates larger landscapes, more varied exploration, improved dimension design, and a world that feels significantly different from V1.1.2.

Due to the scale of the world-generation changes, creating a new world is strongly recommended. Existing worlds may develop visible terrain borders or inconsistent structure generation in newly explored chunks.

Expanded Horror Experience

The horror roster has been updated with The One Who Watches, adding another unpredictable threat to the pack.

Existing creatures and atmospheric systems remain, including:

  • The Man From The Fog
  • From The Fog
  • Cave Dweller Reimagined
  • The Knocker
  • The Midnight Lurker
  • The Mimicer
  • The Anomaly
  • Siren Head
  • GoatMan
  • Apollyon
  • Eyes in the Darkness

The result is not simply more monsters. V2.0.0 combines environmental tension, sound design, visual effects, stalking entities, and less predictable encounters into a more cohesive horror experience.

New Performance and Memory Optimizations

V2.0.0 adds a dedicated optimization stack:

  • ImmediatelyFast improves rendering performance for several interface and rendering operations.
  • FerriteCore reduces memory consumption.
  • ModernFix provides numerous performance, memory, loading, and stability improvements.
  • FPS Reducer reduces unnecessary resource usage while Minecraft is inactive or running in the background.

These additions complement the existing Embeddium, Oculus, and Chloride setup.

Configuration files have also been regenerated and carefully tuned for the updated mod collection. Performance-heavy visual effects remain configurable, and actual results will still depend heavily on shader selection, render distance, hardware, and world activity.

New Mapping System

JourneyMap has been removed and replaced with:

  • Xaero’s Minimap
  • Xaero’s World Map

This provides a cleaner and more integrated minimap and full-screen mapping experience.

Existing JourneyMap waypoints and map data will not automatically transfer to Xaero’s mapping system.

Expanded TaCZ Gameplay

TACZ: Durability has been added for Timeless and Classics Zero.

TaCZ weapons now integrate with an additional durability system, making weapon maintenance and long-term equipment management more meaningful.

Added Mods

The following mods are new in Still Watching V2.0.0:

  • Dungeons and Taverns
  • FPS Reducer
  • FerriteCore
  • ImmediatelyFast
  • Incendium
  • Lithostitched
  • ModernFix
  • Nullscape
  • TACZ: Durability
  • Tectonic
  • Terralith
  • The One Who Watches
  • Xaero’s Minimap
  • Xaero’s World Map

Removed Mods

The following mods from V1.1.2 have been removed:

  • Biomes O’ Plenty
  • Carry On
  • Dungeons Enhanced
  • GlitchCore
  • JourneyMap
  • Structure Gel API
  • The End of Herobrine
  • Valhelsia Structures

Some removals were made because their functionality was replaced, their dependencies were no longer required, or they no longer matched the direction of the updated pack.

World and Structure Changes

  • Replaced Biomes O’ Plenty with the Terralith and Tectonic terrain stack.
  • Replaced Dungeons Enhanced and Valhelsia Structures with Dungeons and Taverns alongside the existing exploration mods.
  • Added dedicated Nether generation through Incendium.
  • Added dedicated End generation through Nullscape.
  • Retained Explorify and Towns and Towers for additional structures and settlement variety.
  • Removed GlitchCore and Structure Gel API because their associated content is no longer included.
  • Improved the overall balance between terrain scale, structures, exploration, and horror encounters.

Visual and Atmospheric Experience

Still Watching V2.0.0 continues to include several optional shader experiences:

  • Complementary Shaders – Reimagined
  • Complementary Shaders – Unbound
  • Hysteria Shaders
  • Insanity Shader
  • Spooklementary
  • Euphoria Patches

The atmospheric stack also continues to use:

  • AmbientSounds
  • Sound Physics Remastered
  • Presence Footsteps
  • EnhancedVisuals
  • Cave Dweller Sound Overhaul
  • Fresh Animations and its extensions
  • Entity Model Features
  • Entity Texture Features
  • Tissou’s Zombie Pack

Shader performance varies enormously. Running heavy shaders at high render distances remains an excellent way to turn a capable computer into an expensive slideshow.

Existing Worlds

A new world is strongly recommended for V2.0.0.

Loading a V1.1.2 world may result in:

  • Terrain borders between old and newly generated chunks
  • Missing or inconsistent biome transitions
  • Different Nether and End generation in unexplored areas
  • Removed structures remaining in already-generated chunks
  • New structures appearing only in newly generated territory
  • Missing content or blocks previously supplied by removed mods

Back up important worlds before updating.

Updating from V1.1.2

For the cleanest upgrade:

  1. Back up your existing instance and worlds.
  2. Install V2.0.0 as a fresh CurseForge profile when possible.
  3. Do not copy the entire V1.1.2 configuration folder over the new release.
  4. Reconfigure personal keybinds, shader preferences, voice-chat settings, and graphics options as needed.
  5. Create a new world to experience the complete V2.0.0 world-generation overhaul.

Final Notes

Still Watching V2.0.0 rebuilds the pack around four priorities:

  • More unsettling horror encounters
  • Better and larger-scale exploration
  • Stronger performance foundations
  • A cleaner, more deliberate mod selection

Thank you for playing Still Watching—and remember: just because you cannot see it does not mean it stopped watching.
