Steampunk and dragons the after effect of the virus

Scientists were learning how to use this new tech that they got from a new planet they discovered but in doing so they brought over a space plague that desolated the world. After thousands of years the virus had no food to survive on and died off. For the next century or so, cities and the world itself were healing from what we brought over from another planet, slowly the infectious plague that was from another world was dying off as it had no food or any livable substance it could eat or use as a host that it slowly feeds off. People went into hiding fearing that they and their loved ones would be consumed by the alien type plague which had no cure. People had to go into hiding and wait it out. Both the parents along with their kids told them that it was dangerous and that they'd get killed in a minute or two once the alienated virus found its way into your bloodstream. 

This brings us to where the virus has brought back the dragons which have been dead for thousands of years, also known to give people who were lucky by its magic-type powers also known as necromancy, and found their way of building air crafts that could escape the virus through Earth and the other planets in our galaxies.
