Description

STARQUEST: THE STARTOWN SAGA

This is a fan-made pack inspired by Katherine Elizabeth’s Starquest on youtube. While there are many of the same mods used in her series, some are missing as this is for forge not fabric (as well as a different minecraft version). And there are many that have been added to expand the cozy experience.

You’ll explore the vast world where Startown once was- finding numerous structures and unique biomes filled with adorable creatures both known and mythical. Find a place to call Startown and begin the journey of building stores to unlock shops in the quest interface. Decorate to your heart's content with adorable details and craft the green spaces in town with hundreds of flowers and trees. Join the members of Startown and work in one of the jobs to help- or try them all.

Go further and discover the few added dimensions for adventure and unique blocks. Collect rare drops from monsters and attune to magic to aid your fights. A museum back in town would be the ideal place to share your findings. Technology is available to aid those looking to bring Startown into the modern era. Power machines to automate your crafting or condense your storage.

This pack uses Embeddium, Embeddium Extra, and Oculus and will NOT work with Optifine.

Don't forget to change your memory settings before loading the pack- this is a hefty one. You will need to enable the resource packs for your world. There are several that will work with the pack but say they are incompatiable: Pride cats, Skyvillages compats, rainbow sheep, Space and Stars GUI, Dramatic Skys Demo. The Wings resource pack allows you to rename carved pumpkins to get different looking wings.

FAQ:

  1. Where is Luma?
    • I could not figure out the mod used for Katherine’s adorable star friend. I suspect it may be from hover pets but that mod will not work with this pack.
  2. Where are the townfolk?
    • There is a mod called Easy NPC that you can add NPCs to your game and it looks like they are progressing with allowing commands to spawn pre generated NPCs so in the future that may be possible. Right now the people (and shops) of Startown are in your mind.
    • I have not included Minecolonies or a Villager hiring mod to keep things simple and allow your creativity to shine.
  3. How does it know if I have built the right part of town?
    • It doesn’t. The fun in this pack is what you make of it and no one is judging your builds. You could make Startown over the void in the end or near a pool of lava and made entirely out of dirt. The quests are to guide you.
  4. Why doesn’t the world look pastel and have star blocks?
    • The videos this is based on use a custom resource pack that changes the look of vanilla blocks. I do not have that resource pack but I believe Katherine may offer it.
  5. What is Snail Day?
    • There are four celebration days based solely on time played. You can do what you want to celebrate those days or just collect the quest when they pass by.
