# Standing Atop the Brutal World

A brutal adventure modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.4.10. About 245 mods come together in one hard world. Defeat the bosses in quest order and climb to the top.

## How it plays
- The quest order (FTB Quests) is the boss order. Each later boss is stronger, but balanced so that you can just barely beat it with good gear and spells.
- Weapons and armor come in tiers, and each piece has been tuned for its place in the progression.
- Early on, fewer enemies spawn. The count grows toward the normal amount as you progress.
- The guide chapter "Everything at a glance" lists every feature that is unique to this pack.

## Features
- **Magic**: Works with Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, Ars Nouveau and other magic mods. Spell area and healing are reduced a little for balance.
- **Shop**: Buy scrolls, potions and handy items. Netherite ingots are not for sale.
- **Soul Ward**: When used, your inventory does not scatter on your next 3 deaths.
- **Curse Relief Holy Water**: Eases the curse of the Ring of the Seven Curses, up to 5 times.
- **Inertial movement**: Wear all four Fantasy Ending armor pieces to glide with momentum, on foot or in flight (default key: G).
- **Thin air**: Above Y150 the air gets thin. Staying near a soul torch, soul lantern or campfire makes it easier to breathe.
- **Temperature and seasons**: Cold Sweat temperature damage and Serene Seasons.
- **Weather and time**: They cannot be changed by commands or by sleeping. Daytime lasts about 25 minutes and night about 15, so a full day is about 40 minutes.
- **Teleporting**: Teleporting from JourneyMap works only to your death pins, and only once each. Waystones can be used from a button in the inventory, with no cooldown.
- **Stable performance**: Particles and spell entities are reduced to keep the game light.

## Notes
- This pack is hard. Expect to die, and make good use of the Soul Ward.
