Modpack for servers based around intuative exploration and automation

When I first played modded minecraft, I felt that JEI removed the feeling of exploration from the game and overwhelmed you by showing you everything in the modpack before you even came across it. I have used stages in such a way that it will only show you sets of items once you pick up a certain item, to reduce how overwhelming modpacks can be.

The pillars of Spyglass:

-> Intuitivity The modpack is intended not to be overwhelming for new players, and eventually, I want people that are even entirely new to minecraft to be able to pick it up.

-> Flexibility Spyglass sticks to the philosophy of vanilla minecraft, in which you can play the game how you like. (Exploration, farming, etc. See below) The one exception to this is that it will be geared away from the anarchy that vanilla minecraft often creates, and have contraptions that you build and use be more conducive to being made aesthetically pleasing.

-> Untiered More things will not have an obvious "upgrade". Moreso things with different use cases. This excludes mods such as iron chests.

-> Single Interaction No single block will immediately effect multiple other blocks. This does not exclude redstone-like behavior, as redstone triggers more redstone which then proceeds to carry out processes. This excludes mods like treecapitators. Create's mechanical saw is an example how instead, 2 blocks are used to that effect.

-> Realism I wanted to add a layer of realism to the modpack as I find things such as vanilla iron farms lack weight as they have little realism (Where does the iron come from?????)

Spyglass was designed with multiplayer in mind, and as such, the modpack has many different ways to play to accommodate many types of players:

  • Builders: massive amounts of building blocks added (Including architects palette, create, decorative blocks etc)
  • Farmers: Farmer's Delight adds many dishes for you to learn to make.
  • Problem Solvers (Redstoners): The Create mod adds many mechanical challenges, and does it aesthetically, so you don't have to cover up all your machines (Like with vanilla redstone, which is ugly)
  • Explorers: Beautiful generation by WWOO and many structures to find, and Item Stages to feel like you're actually discovering things.
  • PvP/MvPers: Better combat, Iron's spellbooks and tetra allow you to tinker with your weapons and tools and find your prefered method of fighting.
  • Parkourers: Parcool enhances the movement of the game, so you can bounce around your world for fun.
  • Pilots(COMING SOON): Create aeronautics will allow you to explore on your very own custom multi-block airships.
