In this modpack, you are in a solar apocalypse, yes.
Best config options:
LonelyBiome: Set biome to "Steppe" (If you don't do this, the world will look nothing like an apocalypse)
AngrySun: (Optional) Disable all effects and thermal underwear
Pam's Harvest Craft: (Optional) This might be hard to find, but look for enablevanillabalance and disable it (This is to make gameplay less stressful)
Advice: If you want to have a certain amount of time before you burn when you first spawn in, look at the ForgivingSun config, which will tell you the command to set a certain time of when you don't burn when you first spawn.
