Start on a Garden of Glass Sky Block World and rebuild the town with the help of the Goddess Gaia.
Many New Recipes and Mod Tweaks will be being added as this modpack Progresses.
Will need to progress through seasons to get pumpkins and other items needed for botania progression
-= Needing Testers and Contributors. If you get stuck in Progression somewhere in one of the mods Please leave and Issue on Curse Forge =-
My favorite mod and my favorite game mode all-in-one! So, awesome!
A couple things while I'm here. I had some suggestions about the quest book. Instead of leading players straight into Harvest Festival, perhaps you should push them further into Botania first. Then you can lead them into Harvest Festival and maybe into a few other mods to help get the town built a bit faster.
Great stuff so far, very excited to see my town fully built! Keep up the good work.
EDIT: wording
hi
my game has a problem when the first year has ended the general store out of stock thing
and it's soon spring not winter
and 2 aggplant did not dye and it gow in winter also
and the harvest book has no quest i do't now why
I would like to make a minor suggestion?
Replace twerksim with cropdusting
If you play with the mod for a while, you will understand why...
Also, since it only affects trees with harvest festival engaged, it won't change balance much. also, the 'poop food' is irrelevant with your sleep hunger restore. Or you can disable the poo if you like (Or the farts, but that takes half the fun out of it)
LOL that is a bit funny. It is also a bit vulgar lol. I finally got my 4 year old to stop making fart sounds and fart jokes.
Since this is a magic based modpack that has nature magic and such I like the idea of the dancing to make things grow. Kind of like a rain dance or something compared to a tribal ritual. Fits the lore that exists in my head rofl
BTW- don't know if this is a bug, but created a new island and there was a big, beautiful Tinker's slime island less than 4 chunks away.
That is cool. I have considered turning down the slime islands and did in some test versions but it thinned them out maybe too much. I do want access to them when I release the multiplayer server files. I too on about 1-20 new games have had one within 5-6 chunks of me.
A couple of things...
What's the point of Abyssal craft? It doesn't really match anything. Harvestcraft Skyblock is pretty grindy already, are you trying to add difficulty?
Aquaculture- I don't get it. It also doesn't seem to work very well, the iron Fishing rod doesn't catch anything.
Railcraft- Is it just to have the steam boiler? There are lots of smaller profile mods that have big and multiblock structures. In Skyblock, however... where is there to go? Is this meant to synergize with the deep dark?
Blocklings: Err... do they actually spawn? I love the concept, but when I cheat in a few to test it for you they are remarkably stupid... are they just for defense?
I am trying to play good beta tester here... I don't get the way some of the stuff is supposed to work together. Are you just adding in Railcraft and Forestry in order to try to get in FTB or something?
I am not trying to get into FTB for one. I am middle management for a major logistics company and being Salary I work very long hours. I really don't have the time to be a FTB release.
My favorite mod of probably all times is Forestry. The bee keeping ties into farming well I believe. You can sell honey and wax to get extra income and also resources from breeding. Personally I would love to see an animal breeding mod with the depth of forestry for farming animals. On WURM Online I was a horse breeder and in ARK I created spreadsheets for traits in Dino Breeding.
Forestry auto-farming and coal creation etc is very industrial age and just feels right for this pack.
I totally get the beekeeping thing, but the rest of forestry, especially the tree farming, has always seemed extremely labor intensive for little reward. Beekeeping is, however, a good alternative for rare or seldom-used critical resources, such as eyes of ender or blaze rods.
While I don't have as much love of forestry or railcraft since their re-balancing a couple of years ago, I suppose I get it. It beats the weird methodology and over-the-top resource gain of ex nihilo.
I guess my experience was diffferent. I got a ton of those ars magica glow things, and nary a blockling in sight. I could see them being a much more...fun method for wood collection than Forestry, but there are far more efficient methods of automating ore collection in the pack already... I totally agree that they should be on the cutting block if they don't oredict.
You might want to look at Tiny progressions as a streamlining method to replace additions and blocklings, since additions doesn't mesh well with Harvest's farming methods...
Oh, and FYI, I don't know if this is intended, but with a deep dark portal you can easily bypass Botania's painful method of getting into the nether. Obviously the deep dark is dangerous, but a magnum torch or three (easy with orechid) and a bucket of water it's nearly completely safe picking up what you need to get your cobblegens and foundry roling, as well as opening up later tech chains without the need for a nether trip until later, when you are much better armed and armored from Tinker's. Is this intended? Or would you consider requiring compressed Netherrack instead of compressed cobblestone for the portal?
And if you want me to cool it with the questions/suggestions, not a problem. I just enjoy peering into the mind of other modpack makers to see what their own reasoning is, and I am enjoying your pack immensely so far.
I run my own business and I see where you are coming from as far as time constraints are concerned. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my questions.
Luckily blocklings dev is releasing normal updates at this point and has fixed a lot of the problems. Using custom tools and ore dict are on their way so I am fingers crossed that these will be a very adorable method of automation. My wife loves blocklings. She giggles just watching them.
I had looked into tiny progressions and the version I played with I recall it only helping really with cobblestone gen. There is the grow crystal things but I would have to see how those synergize with Harvest festival crops. What are the "additions" you are speaking of. I don't have actual additions.
Deep dark is not intended. I have a hard mode version of this modpack I forked for fun that has no Garden of Glass and Harvest Festival Mines are the only method of getting ore before the deep dark. Recipe on that version requires steel. Compressed Netherack is actually a good idea.
No... I need input. I don't fully use all aspects of every mod in the modpack just bits and pieces of each so I am sure there will be roadblocks or progression flaws here and there that need custom recipes etc. Like I am currently working on vampire hunter spawn egg recipes in Botania etc.
excuse me, I meant extra utilities, not actual additions.
Extra utilities adds so much more than tiny progressions with division sigils, cursed earth, transport nodes, filter pipes, angel blocks, and Spikes that are great for mob farms. There is so much more to extra utilities that makes it quite the skyblock companion
Does the pack NEED Ars Magica 2? Because I set the Dryad spawn rate to 0, and they're still spawning...
will look into that and get ars magika creator involved shortly. Been working long hours. This is on my list
I havnt had a dryad problem. flickers are everywhere however. I will still look into it however.
I have been playing the pack for just an hour or two now, and I must say that your approach to combine the Harvest Festival mod with a skyblock is fabulous! :)
Like others have mentioned, the addition of quests with either the HQM mod or the Better Questing mod could potentially make the pack even more fun and much helpful for those that are unfamiliar with the included mods and have quite little idea how to progress. But I know that's a lot of work so you might as well try to look for some help setting up the quests, or hope for a couple of let's play by youtubers.
I have yet to try the remaining parts of the fun, so I'll come back with further feedback later on :)
Keep up the good work!
I have some enchiridon questing setup on a test pack. Let me see what I cant throw together this holiday weekend.
Hey i cant seem to buy anymore seeds from jade i can only buy normal seeds and floral fertilizer. plz help
She IS only set up to sell normal seeds and floral fertilizers. If you want to buy various other items including other seeds, you'll have to buy the General Store blueprint from the Carpenter, have the Store built, and buy things there.
i seem to hit a wall saving up the coins needed to buy the general store, i'm out of flowers to trade for seeds, and it seems off to have to farm vanilla goods for the harvest festal money to get started in HV; note: i can power through by selling apples, but there has to be another way right?
