Simply Complex is a modpack about doing things the hard way, but not the really hard way. Most modpacks contain lots of mods with overlapping features, Simple Complex aims to pair away the redundancy and keep only the mods that create interesting gameplay. This means mods like Thermal Expansion are left out in favor of Immersive Engineering. This means that simple automation is harder to do as you must string together large machines. Even simple things like farming animals and trees has been changed to be more interesting via Animania and Dynamic Trees. All of this comes together to make Simply Complex a more difficult experience not by making things more expensive, but by making it more complicated.
