Magimation

Magimation is a simplified version of popular modpacks such as FTB to make it easier on newer players. This pack has a main focus around things like magic, automation (hence the name Magimation) and making your vanilla experience better with non game changing things like furniture mods but it also contains some machinery mods so that people can still enjoy the tedious parts of modpacks like optimizing power generation and usage. 

Some of the main mods in this are Botania, Thaumcraft, Mekanism and Tinkers' Construct. This allows players to have a lot of fun playing the way they want to play without the extra mods that would just slow your system down as they probably wouldn't be used. Botania allows the player to make a huge garden that actually functions for more than just decoration purposes, Thaumcraft allows the player to make ridiculous or powerful magical items and contraptions, Mekanism allows the player to set up automatic mining and ore processing and many many many more things that you could do with machines in real life and finally Tinkers' Construct allows the player to make their own ideal tool/weapon so everyone has a different tool set unique to them instead of everyone just running around with diamond tools. There are many other mods in this modpack but most are made to compliment the ones I just named.
